    Hello,

    The risk is that one day the Windows 11 updates will stop happening.

    I installed W11 three years ago on a 2009 Sony Vaio laptop, originally shipped with Vista, upgraded through W7, W8, W10, and W11.

    The W11 updates went well until 24H2, which did not go through. I tried a fresh installation of this version, but it doesn't work. There is a hardware incompatibility. The 24H2 version includes instructions not recognized by the old processor of this PC.

      Indeed, a Core 2 Quad Q9650 doesn't support 24H2 either.

      WinPEs created from Win11 ADK for 24H2 seem to have the same issue.

      You need Windows ADK for Windows 11 version 23H2 10.1.26100.1 (May 2024) or an older version to create WinPEs that are still compatible with "vintage" PCs.
