Bitlocker USB Key on iPhone

Hello,

I have a USB-C drive for my iPhone.

I would like to protect it with a password; I applied Bitlocker protection (I'm on W11), and now it's not recognized by my iPhone.

It's probably a compatibility issue between Mac and PC.

Do you have any ideas on how to achieve what I want to do?

Thank you in advance

Hello zoullo

You should definitely not protect the key with Bitlocker, as it is indeed incompatible with the Apple ecosystem.

There are keys with built-in protection

Okay, thanks.

However, are there any with 2 ports: a USB and a USB-C?

I don't have a USB-C on my PC. The one I bought has both ports.

Is it possible to install encryption software on the one I have that would be compatible?

Thank you

Hello,

There are definitely small USB/USB C adapters and vice versa for PCs.

The one I use ultimately cost me a lot ("given" among other things with a new car) but it shouldn't be too expensive separately.

We can probably also "get around the issue" by zipping the files on the drive with a password, but I don't know if the phone will accept that.

Hello,

Of course, Bitlocker and Apple do not get along well.

A Corsair PadLock with an adapter for the phone could possibly work.

Some fingerprint USB drives are versatile too, can work on a USB port in cars etc., but others don’t, you need to do some research.
