Hello,
On a laptop, the lock icon indicating whether caps lock is on or off is no longer displayed. I saw that on Acer, activation is done through the 'Quick Access Service' software. This program does not appear in the list of installed applications. When I search from the W11 search bar, the application is nonexistent. I downloaded and launched the installation, but the W11 installer tells me that the application is already installed. I searched the 'C' partition for 'Quick Access Service': no trace, same thing on the D partition. In the task manager, no trace.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Hello,
Quick Access is installed in the Acer folder of Program Files, check if it's there, and if so, whether it launches from there and if the corresponding service in services.msc is set to automatic.
Some discussions suggest that, still in the Big Brother series, Quick Access may have been replaced by AcerSense, which I'm not sure if it has this function, check on the Acer support website regarding the specific model.
Others mention that an inappropriate version of Quick Access may have been downloaded: also check on the Acer support for a Windows 11 version regarding the specific model or try installing or running in Windows 10 compatibility mode.
If one is only interested in the Caps Lock function and not the other gadgets, it’s also quick to install a dedicated utility, for example:
