Using disk drill

Hello, I bought Disk Drill to try to recover files that I use for creative hobbies. When the disk is in pause mode, I can no longer recover my files; the tab is grayed out, so I have to rescan everything each time. Is it possible to avoid rescanning every time because it's 400 GB of data...
Thank you

Hello
A paused disk goes into standby, so that's normal.
However, this type of software indeed has to scan the entire structure of a disk to try to recover any potential content. That's normal too.
But where's the problem? Generally, we only run the software occasionally if an issue arises and it does its job. It's not meant to run continuously.
Or is the disk going into standby "during" the scanning operation? Your post is not very clear.
If that's the case, your disk may not be in standby but malfunctioning?
Best regards
