Hello everyone,

We are working on Windows 11 and we have a problem with Mkvmerge. When we launch it, we see the DOS file scrolling and that's it. We didn't understand anything at all.

    Have you used it already or not?

    Because it's a batch tool without a graphical interface. There are tools that launch mkvmerge (mkvToolNix,...)

    To merge 2 videos, it would be simpler to use software like Avidemux

    Hello,

    To download the latest version (preferably choose a 64-bit version) of MKVToolnix (this is a graphical user interface or GUI): https://mkvtoolnix.download/downloads.html#windows

    It's easier to use MKVMerge this way, I think...

    With the portable version, you need to click on mkvtoolnix-gui.exe to launch the application, for example, as there are several EXE files in the installation folder.

      This file is just the executable of the software. MKVToolnix installs itself in a directory or folder elsewhere on your computer. Since this is an outdated version, you can uninstall it.

      Logically, if you chose the installable version on your PC, it should essentially overwrite/replace or at least uninstall the old version.

      If you choose the portable version, you copy the contents of the 7z archive, meaning a mkvtoolnix folder to the same location as the old one, thus replacing the files with the same name to update the software. Personally, I use the portable version.

    we have already uninstalled and reinstalled but it’s still the same.
    We will try the mobile version, we don’t know if it works with the PC, anyway thanks.
