During the Ubuntu installation, I need clarification on this error message:

Hello

Don't hesitate to download the ISO elsewhere and recreate the USB stick, even try a different tutorial.

Make sure to back up all recommended data if the PC already has data or an operating system.

Here’s a tutorial that has plenty of details on the issues encountered and how to solve them.

This tutorial suggests installing a not-too-old version of Ubuntu and installing it "alongside Windows," disabling hibernation or hybrid sleep in Windows, and paying close attention to everything related to EFI or UEFI as it could be relevant.

Hello,

If, as I fear, /dev/sda corresponds to your hard drive, it means that it is probably failing. I strongly encourage you to back up all the files you care about, and then check its health status (see this page).
