Create a Leboncoin account without phone

Hello,
When creating a personal account on leboncoin, an email address and then a phone number are required. How can one register if they don't have a smartphone?
I find it very strange that no similar topic has been discussed in the forums, as it seems obvious to me that some people may not necessarily have a smartphone and always use a computer to buy or sell on leboncoin...
Thank you for your help!

I don't understand what's happening today with our freedom and especially our free will. I read all these responses where some justify themselves by not owning a smartphone, others by choosing to have two accounts, and finally the authoritarian ones who impose the rule: no phone, no access to the site.
But what is going on with the choice and the freedom to simply refuse to communicate your mobile number? Is it forbidden to want to keep a tiny bit of privacy?
I give my landline to everyone, but I want to reserve my mobile for my family and close friends. Am I not allowed to assert that right?
When my mobile rings, I know it's important and I stop everything to answer. But I don't want to be called like on the landline every fifteen minutes for a health insurance or one-euro insulation or any other harassment.
Let's not kid ourselves, it's not for our safety that leboncoin imposes this arbitrary constraint; it's to resell our number and exploit our personal data.
Let's all wake up and react. We must be united and relearn to say: NO, when we want to.
The current problem with Le Bon Coin is that it is simply operating illegally. Indeed, under the European DSP2 directive, it must offer at least one alternative to mobile phones, such as a landline with a voice code, as my bank (CMB) does upon my request because I do not have a smartphone, an email, a USB key...
My lawyer also tells me that the data protection law allows me free access to and/or modification of my digital data, in this case my listings. That is why I started by reporting it to the DGCCRF via the CNIL, which will be followed by a complaint if nothing changes, as buyers are contacting me, Le Bon Coin is sending me notifications, and I cannot connect due to lack of a mobile phone.
@radinoz
yes, I sell elsewhere, no problem with that. And fundamentally, I do not support the data extortion in this way despite what is very clearly stated in the law. Is this for two-factor authentication? What a joke. "Let's protect your account" yeah, sure..
secondly, I communicate via my buyer account, for example, for real estate, etc., jobs, etc.. I don't necessarily want everything I sell to be visible, or where I live, when I buy or discuss, etc.. I prefer not to sell anything on my buyer account; I have one or two listings for jobs, I offer services, I don't necessarily want to add my shoes, my books, my items, my junk, etc..
In any case, we shouldn't be extorting people's phones like this; they could at least accept landlines. It's just data collection, that's all. I only give my number in private. Email is sufficient.
Which other website are you using? Because I'm in the same situation.
I wrote them an email, but they need more time to respond because they're overwhelmed with requests (no surprise there!).
What is certain is that I will not be giving my mobile phone number.
I'm already on Bloctel, I'm not going to give it to Le Bon Coin.
This is called aggressive selling, extortion, abuse of power...
Good luck to everyone
No one is required by French law to have a mandatory mobile phone, leboncoin does not accept landline numbers..people here who comment and think it's okay are deluding themselves. because it is not right for companies to make their own rules constantly, despite the laws of the country itself, it is not right to ostracize part of the population. and for consumers to have their data stolen.
Personally, I wanted to create an account to sell and one to buy; I already had an account and every time I want to log in I am blocked if I do not provide my phone, fortunately this account was created a long time ago, so before I had to refresh the page because I could not access my login if I did not provide my phone.
Now I have to go through the login process, end up facing this block and actually go back to my email and return to leboncoin via a leboncoin email, and the authentication having been done just before, I finally access my account otherwise the procedure of asking for the phone prevents me. it's extortion.
But everything is like that right now. Great reset necessitates, all consumers treated like cattle.
Ebay, rakuten amazon, leboncoin, same fight..
I report to signal conso and dgcrf.
Like trust pilot, a series of fake reviews that has an algorithm that systematically refuses negative reviews from ebay or rakuten or leboncoin for example,
Afterward, we will preach morality to Putin or I don't know who..oh yes liberty, equality, fraternity..fake!
Me too: I've always bypassed this screen requesting the mobile number with the double tab trick: one to enter the login (stuck on the mobile number request), the other to refresh afterwards to access the account.
But it no longer works.
Oh those idiots, they're going to get an avalanche of complaints!
Let's hope they fix things.
The problem is that, in the desire to secure everything to supposedly protect the naive, but in reality to embed itself in every transaction and take its "tithe" along the way, Le Bon Coin has been deteriorating in my eyes since its takeover, losing everything that contributed to its success: simplicity, direct connection between "humans," simple interface. Now it's an overloaded interface, slow, complicated, with unbearable and permanent pop-ups, and if you want 5 accounts to separate different types of items (easier for management), you need as many phone numbers as accounts.
But since Le Bon Coin is in a monopoly situation, and now managed by Ultra Techies very far from user expectations, seeking short-term profit, I believe it will continue to deteriorate year after year; What a pity, I have been a PIONEER user!! for 10 years!
Condolences!!
Hello,
..."I go back to my inbox and return to leboncoin via a leboncoin email, and since the authentication was done just before, I finally access my account otherwise the procedure to request the phone prevents me from doing so"...
This workaround no longer works at all since the latest "technical adjustments" made to the LBC site.
There's nothing we can do here if the phone number is required!

Hello,
I would like to have an account where I would list only the books I sell, around 50, and on another account the items I sell, such as lamps, wood, tools, approximately 80.
People interested in books will be able to browse more easily ONLY the books, and vice versa for non-book lovers.
You cannot search on the seller's account on Leboncoin. Thank you. Best regards.
Yes, having mixed up the photos, brushes with the passwords, etc. Leboncoin refuses to let me recreate an account with the same phone just to access the details of the ad posters. This site has become rigid, almost dictatorial. The law of the QR code and the hegemony of the smartphone to monitor us is getting a bit much. I am going to file a complaint with the CNIL through the DGCCRF.
Hello,
As for me, I have one account, and only one, on Le Bon Coin, but for the past three days, I haven't been able to access my profile unless I provide my phone number. A message simply tells me to give my number or delete my account (and thus all my online listings...). I sell little things for a few euros to manage to get through the end of the month, it's a struggle!
What should I do? Are there other user-friendly sites (without Smartphone or apps to download)?
Thank you
Recently, I stumbled upon Facebook Marketplace ( https://www.facebook.com/login/?next=%2Fmarketplace%2F ). Well, I hate Facebook, so it pains me to say it, but there’s a super vibrant second-hand market over there (for example, for furniture) that I didn’t even suspect existed until about 2 months ago!
And I think that even Facebook doesn’t require a phone number... Not impressive for Le Bon Coin!
Received an email directly from Le Bon Coin yesterday: indeed, if I refuse to give them my phone number, I will soon no longer have access to my account... I will quickly back up my ongoing listings and photos to publish them on another site! Then it's the end of Le Bon Coin. :/
When the phone number is requested, it is not possible to change the country prefix, 0033 for France, only the option to choose Guadeloupe, etc. Therefore, for a Belgian, it is impossible to create an account even just to make a purchase... It's a bit of a shame to limit the sales scope to the French territory...
The problem is that if you have had multiple accounts and you entered your phone number on one of those accounts and you lost it, you cannot recover the account. Basically, you can use "forgot password" for your password, but you can't use "forgot ID" to recover it via your phone or your email. This prevents me from accessing the platform anymore.
Account deleted today...
My mobile number is PERSONAL!
Goodbye Le Bon Coin, it was a good idea originally, but the authoritarian approach taken will send it to oblivion until an Anglo-Saxon site picks up the idea.
Hello
The problem for me is not only that they ask for a number for verification, but that they allow themselves to share it with the professionals we contact on leboncoin (just like your email address, the replies do not go through leboncoin's messaging system) even if we unchecked the box to display our number and deleted it before sending our message...
I am now regularly "harassed" by real estate agencies that I contacted via leboncoin, and I receive calls from professionals I contacted via leboncoin to respond to my questions. If I contact them by message, it’s because I prefer to communicate that way and not by phone!
I noticed this because when professionals reply by email, they sometimes leave the message they received from leboncoin, and you can see: their email address, their phone number, what we typed in the search bar to find their product, etc... they give away all your personal info...
Hello,
This phone request is not for pseudo-security but for pathetic business.
This does not only concern new customers, which would be just as pathetic, but would leave the choice to sign up or not.
It also concerns existing accounts, whose access is blocked if you refuse to provide your phone number, and you are told to delete your account without any last access to finalize ongoing sales or anything else.
They are really bastards.
Personally, I just deleted my account. (Without being able to access and finalize sales/purchases).
I absolutely do not understand the people defending these practices.
...........
A date, a good advertisement on social networks about your intention to delete accounts (if massive) would be nice.
(wording to avoid making it sound like a call to boycott because that's prohibited)

GOOD NEWS, this morning I was finally able to reconnect to my account WITHOUT PROVIDING a phone number.
I DID WELL to RESIST. Perhaps certain procedures had an impact on this SCANDALOUS CHOICE by Le Bon Coin, unless they observed a DECREASE in TRAFFIC.
We'll see if this lasts.
Well seen, thanks for this news.
Personally, I had deleted my account, or rather I wanted to, because their confirmation link for deletion didn't seem to take it into account.
Maybe too many deletion requests and they gave up.
I just tried to log in again. Account not deleted after all, and I have the phone number request, but with a "later" option to bypass it.
With the holidays approaching, likely more traffic for reselling duplicate gifts, old devices... they must have given up and I feel like they will bring back this phone number requirement in February/March.
This morning it was still working, you just had to click on "later" at the bottom of the window and it worked. I have two accounts because I have one for buying and the other for selling, and now it's dead because you can't use the same mobile number twice. Le BONCOIN would have been good, but now it's nonsense. How do I recover my money from my wallet?
I can't wait for a competitor to Le BONCOIN that respects people's privacy!
The most ironic thing in this story is that they send a code by email to validate the account deletion. They could do the same to secure the account login, but they prefer to impose a phone number, even if it means that the customer will delete their account. Le Bon Coin trolls us in addition to being dishonest.
Hello Dear Tim, very kind of you to respond, and this will surely help me in the future, but what I really wanted to know was how to assign the same phone number to multiple accounts, as I have 6 accounts and cannot purchase 6 numbers: different mobile accounts. However, I fear there may be nothing we can do, given the increasingly detrimental direction of the "new Bon Coin" day by day with the everlasting excuse of "It's for your well-being and your safety"... we've often heard that... to justify the excesses.
I no longer have access to my leboncoin account at all since yesterday, nor to the request I sent them which has gone unanswered! It's quite unfortunate (because other less restrictive sites send the confirmation code via email or voice message to the landline) but I will have to delete and move elsewhere... I'm thinking of settling on Paru Vendu which seems much more respectful of its members, do you have any other sites in mind? (might as well gather in the same place to centralize offers)
The problem is that by wanting to secure everything to supposedly spare the naive, but in reality to insert themselves into every transaction and take their "tithe" in passing, Le Bon Coin has been deteriorating in my eyes since its acquisition, losing everything that made it successful: simplicity, direct interaction between "humans", simple interface. Now there's an overloaded, slow, complicated interface, unbearable and constant Pop Ups, and if you want 5 accounts to separate different types of objects (easier to manage), you need as many phone numbers as accounts. Before, I would post items for €20 every 2 months for 6 ads, but because of ZEALOUS moderators who delete your ad for no good reason, I no longer post items to "avoid attracting the attention" of the moderators. The result? Le Bon Coin makes less money, irony!!
But since Le Bon Coin is in a monopoly situation, and is now managed by Ultra Techies very far removed from user expectations, seeking short-term profit, I believe it will continue to deteriorate year after year; Too bad, I've been a PIONEER user for 10 years!
Condolences!!
The trick to connect via LBC assistance works but allows for rather "limited" access.
HOWEVER, it is possible to achieve "FULL" access with an ad blocker...
Out of curiosity, I tested it with Adguard, and by blocking several elements (the window that prompts you to enter your mobile phone is just a form of pop-up after all), you regain access to all sections, including the ability to post new ads.
So all you need to do is:
- connect via assistance
- then use the Adguard extension (click on the green shield, then "block ads on this site") by eliminating the annoying blocks one by one

I agree with you. I have a Leboncoin account that I no longer have access to because I don't want to share my mobile phone number. It's an infringement on freedoms.
They can go to hell, I will no longer use this site and I hope many will do the same!
Absolutely agree Kathy, I don't have a phone, it's a choice, so how do I use Leboncoin to access my account? Could you send us a code to a valid email address for a limited time so we can log into our account without using a phone, which is becoming prohibited almost everywhere (planes, cars, doctors, hospitals, etc.....)
