Change checkbox size

Question

Hello,

I want to enlarge a checkbox (the one you insert from the Developer tab). I found that by increasing the font size, the checkbox gets bigger. However, there's a "white space" all around the checkbox that quickly becomes enormous. It seems to me that the checkbox only occupies about 25% of the space it actually takes up, with the rest being some sort of margin.
Is it possible to remove this "margin"?

Hello.

I don't understand your issue!
The "white zone" is just an indication of the special area where the box is drawn; it is only visible when you click on it; it does not interfere with the surrounding characters; it does not appear when printed! It's exactly the same when you want to insert a shape, a drawing, a photo, a chart...
So leave it alone!

Essentially, I am using a table with different rows, and in each row, there is a checkbox. The checkbox can only be half the height of the row: if I try to increase the font size, the row automatically expands... and my checkbox still only takes up half of the row's height.

I don't quite understand. You say that the cell can only be half the height of the line.
And then you say "and my cell is still only half of the line" ...

So what's the problem?

In any case, two things:
- Check the spacing before/after in the Paragraph dialog box.
- If it's still too big, select the entire table, go to the table properties, and under the Rows tab, set the value you want, choosing the "Fixed" option.

Hello,

The problem is that I would like the checkbox to represent 90% of the height of the table row.
The spacing before/after is indeed set to 0.
If I set the row height and increase the font size of my checkbox, it gets "cut off": the upper part of the white area and the top of the checkbox are visible, while the bottom of the checkbox and the lower part "disappear" (even when changing the cell alignment).

You won't be able to do much better, except, perhaps, with inherited form fields. It all depends on whether the form is to be filled out online or on paper.
