Hello,
on 2 projectors, I've been noticing the following problems for some time:
- on an Optoma, the bottom of the image starts to flicker after a few minutes of operation.
- on a Nec, the image is very pale, unreadable except in complete darkness, and even then... Yet the menu indicates that the lamp life is only at 56%.
Do you have any solutions?
Thank you for your... insights!

Hello
The lifespan of the lamps in a projector is just an indication, not a reality, just like with any bulbs you buy at your supermarket for your home; the manufacturer indicates a lifespan, but I think you have already noticed that this lifespan is never reached.

Yes, thank you, I suspected that, but could it be the lamp that needs to be changed? Or is it coming from elsewhere?
At the price of lamps (about 1/3 of the cost of the device!), it would be foolish to change it for nothing.
Thank you.

As a user of video projectors in a professional context, I can assure you that most of the time, the problem comes from the lamp. These bulbs are very fragile; they do not tolerate even the slightest shocks, and the same goes for thermal shocks if the device is moved before it has completely cooled down. I should also add that we never leave without having one or two spare bulbs.
Yes, thank you dhyd,
In our schools, all the VPs are suspended and we have had a lot fewer problems since. It's true that most of the time, the breakdowns are resolved by changing the lamp. But given the price, we hope to find another cause! Sometimes (screen with vertical stripes) it’s enough to open it up and blow to remove the dust. I have ordered a lamp for each, I’ll see what that does...
Thanks anyway!
