Increase the H DD disk capacity of an ACER ASPIRE ONE

Hello

I would like to know if there is a way to increase the HDD capacity of my mother's Acer Aspire One, which only has 30 GB.
Once the OS is installed, there is hardly any space left, and there isn't much on it.
What would be the best solution to prevent the computer from becoming saturated, as after a while even updates can no longer be installed?
I also see that 1 TB of OneDrive storage is available with the computer, but can that space be used to store the OS and any potential updates?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ADVICE

Hello,

If the PC is this one: https://www.01net.com/tests/acer-aspire-one-fiche-technique-7733.html

there's not much to expect from it. So initially, it's a total storage of 80 GB. What's the OS, Linux? To have more storage, it's possible to add an SD / MMC card, but it's not used for the OS and updates, just for personal files.

OneDrive is cloud storage (via the internet), no OS or application.

Hello,

thank you for your response

No, actually it’s this one - https://www.acer.com/ac/fr/FR/content/model/NX.SHXEF.005
even worse, the starting storage is 32 GB, so once WINDOWS is installed, there is only a maximum of 8 GB left for possible updates.
you only confirm what I was thinking, not much to hope for, it’s a shame, apart from that it works perfectly. I think the best solution is to change his computer ^^^^^^
anyway, thank you very much.

Hello
no updates for Windows 10 are possible on this kind of small PC
there is not really a hard drive
but a 32GB eMMC chip soldered to the motherboard
eMMC PCs should be avoided for the following reasons, see the two links

Yes, there's nothing to expect from this PC. It's quite sad since it could be a usable little PC if it had more storage; plus, the eMMC is soldered and not replaceable.

If I had such a machine on hand, I would try to install Windows 10 on a bootable USB drive. But it's still difficult and not certain to recover the Windows 10 license from the PC.

Are you sure it's not an SSD? If worse comes to worst, you can clone the HDD onto a new, larger one using AOMEI Backupper Free.

Hello

I think it is indeed an HDD. In the description, they mention flash memory but I don't know much about it.
Anyway, thank you very much for the tip, I didn't know about backupper, we're thinking of getting another one so it will probably be very useful.
Thanks ^^^^^^
