    Hello,

I installed XP in a multiboot configuration with Vista without any problems.

I installed the graphics drivers from the unified drivers of ATI driver x 1900 xt 7.9 using the utility modder 0.8.8.0.
This utility allows extracting the corresponding drivers for the mobility HD 2600, which are in the 7.9 x 1900 xt driver.

    It works perfectly, but:

    I notice the following performance:

    3D Mark 2005 on XP: 4054 points
3D Mark 2005 on Vista (original drivers installed when I bought the PC): 6454 points

The difference is not significant for a user who is not a gamer.

But we can conclude that the drivers provided by ATI under Vista are better than the drivers intended for XP. I thought the opposite.

So if you want to play with the best performance, install the games under Vista (if possible) and not under XP.
Example: Counter-Strike Source under XP with 5 bots reaches a minimum of 18 fps and a maximum of 65 fps
under Vista with 10 bots, minimum 50 fps and over 100 fps maximum.

    See you!

    Thank you for the information.
We should therefore be able to find a stable Windows and free up some resources.

In Tools / Options / Video, you need to select Bisoncam NB Pro as the camera.

I just bought this Targa laptop, and I can't connect to the internet via Wi-Fi with my Livebox, which is already connected via Ethernet to my PC. Who could help me solve my problem?

Have you first activated the Wifi using the button just to the right of the Power button?
Then, if the Wifi network is found, you just need to enter the Wep key which is located under your Livebox.

    Good evening,
Do you have the same problem?
As in, my charger sometimes heats up very greatly to the point of emitting a plastic smell.
It still works, but it doesn't inspire confidence!
Otherwise, are you still satisfied with your Targa? I am.

      Hello.

It's true, the transformer gets quite hot, but not to the point of smelling plastic. If it has always smelled, it might be normal. However, if it's new, a problem might be starting to show itself on the horizon.

        Hello,
Thank you for your response, I will pay more attention to it.
I think the charger should be guaranteed for 15 months, like the battery.

My charger is dead, at least I think so.
The battery won’t charge, impossible to start the Targa.
However, there is current coming from the charger’s output, as I tried to plug it into a device with the same jack input.
Briefly because the device is a 12v battery charger, result: device powered on.
After contacting Targa's customer service, they are sending me another charger and if that doesn’t work, I will have to return the entire laptop to them.
I found the customer service very responsive, very kind, and the big advantage is that the hotline number is not a premium-rate number.

    Hello
Well, I also have a Targa and it is quite sick, no more DVD burner and some keys on the keyboard are falling off. If by chance you have the phone number of the technical service, that would help me. I think I remember it starts with a 07.....I contacted them to change my hard drive...my contact details...Mr. WILLEMS André 0627307836. I bought this PC on 12/09/2004 at Lidl and it seems to me that it has a 5-year warranty...
    Best regards.

    Hello
I needed LIDL's customer service, 32 months after purchasing the laptop, so 4 months before the warranty expired.
The hard drive was replaced as well as the 2 hinges, and there was no difficulty applying the warranty.
Of course, the pickup and return of the PC at home.
    Excellent customer service.

I would like to say a big congratulations to the Targa after-sales service. Almost 3 years after my purchase, I called because I had issues with the USB ports. A carrier came to pick up the device at my home, and fifteen days later I got my computer back, but the Wi-Fi was no longer working. I called back, the warranty was extended, and my computer made the trip again. It came back like new, all updates (BIOS, drivers...) were completed. I even included the mouse that was broken, and I received a new mouse. It goes without saying that I called many times and had to be insistent. But overall, I am very satisfied.

hihihihi Targa was fine....... but the hotline is even better!!!!! lol
I bought a PC cash for 1000€ at Lidl and right away I noticed it was making way too much noise. The next step was the hotline, the courier, in short, 2 months of waiting.
When my computer returned, I noticed there were some small screws missing underneath, but to get my screws back, I would have to send it back... hum hum, no thank you.
After that, everything went well for 8 months, except that I noticed it was overheating way too much for no reason, and then zzzzzzzzz it stopped working!!!! Back to the hotline........ courier........ but this time there was a problem, it took 5 months for them to pick it up and 1 month to repair it and send it back to me, a total of 6 months.
Why? It's very simple, no courier wanted to come (non-service area), and I had to pay the shipping costs myself, 30€, to send it to them.
Then I was very happy to be able to use my computer, but I was expecting a call from a manager.......... nothing....... I went to Lidl, they told me to call the hotline, and the hotline told me to go to Lidl..........
Anyway, I still haven't heard from a manager for 2 months, and I wonder who will reimburse me for all my phone costs, shipping, as well as the complaint I made for all the problems it caused (many days stuck at home waiting for a courier who never came, but internet fees being deducted every month even though I couldn't use "no computer" and it wasn't possible to break the contract because they keep telling me that a courier will arrive. In the end, I have a computer that I paid cash for 1000€ plus nearly 200€ in personal expenses and my computer is still overheating just as much!!!!!..... see you next time.

Hello! skilucci, here’s a response or rather an opinion, as it should be! Happy for you about your new acquisition, and even more so if you are satisfied with it. The aesthetics, I was going to say, what’s important is the quality of the product and how we’re going to use it, right? The description you gave me is very "tempting," and it might lead me to believe I was too hasty in my judgment, and as they say, to be polite, only donkeys don’t change their minds. Given that we hear more and more about this product, I imagine they must be improving on quality and design. Anyway, it’s clear that at least in terms of graphics, both ATI and AMD... for the processor, 64 Turion, I believe? Yes, it’s written in the subject, it's clear I totally agree with those two elements, but where it gets tricky for me is, as epango already said, it might be an oversight by sissi in detailing the ad for the config, or maybe it’s just because it was “written in very small print, in between the lines, or quickly mentioned!!” The RAM? We know there are 2 GB, but 2 GB of what? What’s the motherboard? That's my question. I find they focused too much on graphics and somewhat neglected what I would call the "key" elements of the laptop. On the other hand, where I am satisfied and which makes me believe that in my "c........", there’s I think a bit of truth, is for the burner, LG, right? This brand is affiliated, subcontracted, well I don’t really know, but still, if I’m not mistaken, it’s Philips. As for the batteries, it seems they really put in the effort. However, I totally agree about Vista, but nothing prevents you, having previously made sure to have all the drivers of the same brand and model, from going back to XP... Anyway, I’m glad to have had your opinion which convinced me a bit more, because I being stubborn, only saw Target and that’s it!! Now I’m starting to think, we’re all entitled to make mistakes!! And after all, why not? Thanks, A+
P.S: sorry for the informal address, shhhh...
