Hello,
since the installation of several KBs after mid-July 2020, including KB 4565425, the application I use has a latency of over 1000ms. I have managed to uninstall quite a few KBs; however, KB 4566425 refuses to uninstall and resists, even when using the command wusa /uninstall /kb:4566425 (nothing happens in the command prompt). Thank you very much for your help, please.

Hi,
Check this out: https://www.malekal.com/desinstaller-mise-a-jour-de-windows/
You probably need to block it so it doesn't come back.

Thank you, I tried using this method to clean a few of them, but the KB in question from my post refuses even with wusa.
When you go to the list of installed updates in Windows Update from the control panel, you select the relevant KB but you don't see the uninstall option (right-click) in the bar unlike the other KBs that I've removed. So I went to the command prompt and typed my wusa command, but that doesn't work either since nothing happens on the command prompt screen.
Hello my dear, sorry it's KB4566425
Curiously Malekal, when I type
dism /online /get-packages | findstr 4566425 I find it and when I then do wusa.exe /norestart /uninstall /kb:4656425, the system replies that it is not installed
I also did
dism /online /get-packages | findstr 4566425 >"%userprofile%\desktop\dism4566425.txt" it creates a file with a single line
and when I do
dism /online /remove-package /PackageName:Package_for_KB4566425~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.1 with the only line returned it sends me an error (log \dism\ ...°

For the slowdowns, do you have a process using the disk or CPU?
It would be interesting to see if DISM returns any errors.
You can run an SFC scan and repair
Right-click on the Start menu and Command Prompt (admin)
In the black Command Prompt window, type sfc /scannow in the window.
See this image: https://www.malekal.com/wp-content/uploads/ouvrir-invite-commandes-administrateur-Windows10.gif
It should tell you that the protection has detected damaged items, and you need to restart to fix them. At that point, restart.
Then, run a DISM repair
Still in the Command Prompt window, run these two commands successively.
DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
(note, there is a space in front of each command starting with / /Online /Cleanup-image etc)
Make sure the scan and repair complete without any errors appearing.
Restart the computer.

Thank you very much,
I had a feeling there was something preventing the uninstallation of this KB; I still suspect this KB for the damage caused because Microsoft sometimes acts like horsemen under the guise of security.
I will try what you proposed to see where these slowdowns come from when I launch my application.
Thanks again.

I just finished sfc / scannow: here is the output on the command prompt (black screen)
“Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.log windir \logs\CBS\CBS.log. for example c:\window\logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is not currently supported in offline servicing scenarios.”
Should I restart the PC or do something else first?
Thank you for your prompt response Malekal.

DISM gives errors?
And in the task manager?

To check your computer for potential infections and get an overall system status:
Follow the FRST tutorial by clicking on this blue link. ( take the time to read carefully - everything is well explained there ).
Download and run the FRST scan,
Wait for the scan to finish, a message will indicate that the analysis is complete.
Three FRST reports will be generated:
Send these 3 reports to the site https://pjjoint.malekal.com/ and in return provide the 3 pjjoint links that lead to the reports here in a new response so that we can consult them.
(The blue links lead to step-by-step explanatory tutorials, click on them for more precise instructions to follow).

Thanks a lot, Malekal, without you I was a bit lost
the two operations
DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
both succeeded without any errors
I will reboot the PC and test my application in that case
I'll keep you posted
thanks again, Malekal, luckily there are guys like you, otherwise it would be a real hassle

Firstly, the two DISM operations did not resolve the issue with my application
I downloaded FRST and carried out the analyses, and I obtained the three files that I will send you
Note: In your tutorial, one screen does not indicate that the additional shortcut.txt checkbox must be checked; otherwise, the FRST program does not create it.

You're talking about a latency of 1000 ms
What application is that?
Isn't it that your Windows is slow in general?

No, Windows isn’t slow
it’s the game Diablo 3 from Blizzard, since 4 days after installing KB 4566425 whereas before it was smooth.

Sure, but I'm not really sure about that, it's very specific.
Try disabling the Windows Update service, just in case...
Otherwise, you should send an email to Blizzard to check it out.
Plus, you don't have a restore point to go back before installing that update.
Are you really sure it's related to that?
Nothing else has been done on the PC?
No updates trying to install.
Maybe try uninstalling Avast! and CCleaner.

I'm going to try to disable Windows Update
I sent messages and opened a ticket with Blizzard, it’s in progress
Hey, I don’t have a restore point because I never questioned MS updates until today
And nothing has been done on the PC since July 17, 202, that's why I have my doubts entirely on the Kbs installed since 07/17
I have disabled Avast, I will do the same for CCleaner
By the way, did you detect anything on your side with the three files I sent you
Thanks a lot

Hello Malekal,
I'm still working on resolving my issues, and I suspect Avast might be blocking the game when it launches.
For this reason, I uninstalled and cleaned Avast from my computer and installed Kaspersky.
However, upon startup, I still have Avast launching, and I can't seem to remove it from the startup tasks. Here’s what I found at startup even though Avast has been removed:
Action Time Description Filename Full Path More Information File Extension Data Source
07/24/2020 11:34:50 Task Run backup.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\AV\avast! Antivirus\backup.exe Avast settings backup, \AVAST Software\Avast settings backup exe
In this directory, I can't find the backup.exe.
Thank you for your response.

Perhaps Revo Uninstaller can help.

Thank you, I installed it, but it can't uninstall it. It's backup.exe from Avast that indicates a path, and even when selecting to show hidden files, it remains well hidden.
I have another lead for my problem: going back to a native version of Windows 8.1 without any updates, especially the installation of KB 4656425 which causes me problems, I suspect.
Do you have a trick to reinstall Windows 8.1 original without the updates? Thank you.

Try to repair Windows 8, it will save you from having to reinstall everything: https://www.malekal.com/reparer-windows-8-sans-perte-donnees/
Otherwise, you can reinstall Windows 8 by following this tutorial: https://www.malekal.com/installer-windows8/
You can block the KB afterwards.
However, given the description, is it possible that future updates won't install?
We'll see.

Hello Malekal,
thank you very much, and I can't thank you enough given your availability and insights.
I believe I have found a lead on my problem. Ever since my game crashed (it stopped with a completely black screen and then I could no longer access the game), I focused on the graphics card, which may have malfunctioned during the game crash. Two observations to date:
1) I started the KOMBUSTOR software, and the images displayed on their test screen are choppy, unlike the clarity of the same test screen noted while watching YouTubers' videos showcasing the use of Kombustor.
2) Sometimes, when I’m simply browsing the internet, a black area appears on my screen, and when I move the mouse, it disappears; this happens often.
P.S. By the way, I managed to add a second admin account on my W 8.1 PC (a huge headache that I suppose you already know about) following a request from the game's technical support to try to fix it, but I succeeded with the trick of copying the Default directory.
Can you guide me with some tips regarding this lead so I can make progress? Thank you very much for your advice.
