Hello everyone,
I received a verification code this morning on my phone from an app called TikTok, an app I was unaware of until today.
I'm a bit worried because I think it might be identity theft. I opened the message, and there don't seem to be any fraudulent links, so I don't think it's phishing, but clearly, someone has used my number.
The question is, is the security of my devices compromised? Has this happened to anyone else, and do you know about this kind of process?
I must admit I don't understand the ultimate goal!
Thank you in advance for your replies,
Kind regards

Hello,
Check this out https://www.terrafemina.com/article/tik-tok-faut-il-se-mefier-de-l-appli-preferee-des-pre-ados_a346652/1
You'll understand the final goal better..
There must have been a connection made with your circle of acquaintances...
Don't use your real name... Instead, use a pseudonym in the texts.. it avoids exposing you.-
Thank you for your reply Jeannets.
But the problem is that I have never signed up for this app!!! I am allergic to social networks and I NEVER use them!
In other words, does this mean that someone tried to sign up in my name using my phone number? Having read the article you linked, I am increasingly worried... -
