I don't know what happened
but numbers were entered in the score cells by
day colored the same color as the cell backgrounds.

What version of Excel is it? What level of update? On which version of macOS?

The #N/A display indicates that a cell involved in a formula does not contain the expected type of value (text instead of a number, for example). If you do not describe the formula or the content of the involved cells, we cannot say more...

When a cell displays ##, it means it is not wide enough to display the content.

Given the formulas used:
- the team name is searched in the second column of the table represented by the cells between T5 and Z22
- the points are searched in the eighth column of the table represented by the cells between U5 and AI22.

Do these areas T5:Z22 and U5:AI22 contain any information at all?
Could you show them to us?

So, I must admit that I couldn't find a "T" cell, but Z22 is indeed empty

For U5, it's the location where I enter the team names:

When I said "... the table represented by the cells from T5 to Z22 ...", "T5" refers to the cell located in column "T" and in the 5th row
"Z22" refers to the cell located in column Z and in the 22nd row
and the table is therefore all the cells between these two endpoints, namely these:


The formula used "VLOOKUP(S5;$T$5:$Z$22;2;0)" says this:
- I look at the value contained in the cell indicated by the first parameter, namely S5
- I search for this value in the table indicated by the second parameter, namely $T$5:$Z$22
- if I find it, then I retrieve the value located in the column indicated by the third parameter which is 2: so it is the second column in the table. The first column being T, the second is therefore U.
