XTRA PC compatible with all existing software?

Hello to the entire CCM team,I also just saw the ad for the XTRA pc USB key. In the ad, it looks really nice, but...Could someone who has installed it for a while please tell me:- Currently on Win10 64 bits, will the interface change and will I find myself in a complete Linux environment?- An extremely important thing, will the software already installed on my hard drive (Google, Opera, antivirus included) function normally under this new environment?For example, do optimization software work normally without any reconfiguration or re-installation? (disk defragmenter)Currently, when I go to settings/system information/system type/, it mentions: 64-bit operating system, processor..... And in Windows specifications: Windows 10 Home, version....Once XTRA pc is installed, what will it say exactly, what will be the changes?Lastly, what are the limits of this system once installed and in case it doesn't suit us, can it be easily uninstalled, and after that, do we get back our system as we left it when installing, i.e., functional, without having to reinstall everything (Windows, etc.)?No less important, currently Windows 10 is installed without a time limit on my computer,Does XTRA pc work the same way or are we subject to a subscription-based system like there are many today? Bonjour, I just received the Xtra PC 2.0 USB drive, and it says that formatting will erase all the data on the disk. What data will that erase? Will it reset the computer to zero or what? I look forward to your response, thank you.

Good evening,

From what I’ve seen online, it’s a bootable key, so your PC starts from the key in a way. Your Windows won’t be affected and you’ll be on a fully operational Linux. Linux has its advantages/disadvantages (do some research on Google for more details), not all software is compatible with Linux, though.

Personally, I don’t think a bootable Linux key works miracles… especially since it’s possible to create one yourself with a USB key, a Linux ISO, and software that makes USB keys bootable (like Rufus, for example)…

and thank you for your response, which has the merit of honesty. I admit I have a rough understanding of the information regarding the "little penguin" and I see that you too are in the realm of conjecture. This is precisely why my request concerns a person who has made the significant leap by installing the precious content. That said, since I only saw the ad for this USB key 2 or 3 days ago, it is logical to accept the obvious: It is quite possible that few people have had the time not only to install it but also to test it and understand the environmental modifications. And since the "big ears" are certainly on high alert right now, we risk having enthusiastic feedback from "internet users" on the site that might just be beautifully crafted arguments mentioned by the members of the commercial development service of the proposed service.
Regarding the product itself, I did consider a simple bootable key under a Linux environment. And indeed, this system, which aims to be innovative, is not really as new as the image one would like to portray. Moreover, does the base version at €32, once produced, actually cost more than €5?

and sorry that your purchase hasn't been productive. I couldn't verify on that site, but since this key installs a system under Linux, I think it would be interesting for you to ask the question on a forum dealing with Linux (perhaps CCM covers the topic).
I would be pleased to know if you have found the answer to your issue and got the machine running. About twenty years ago, I had installed a Linux environment on my computer, I had it running a bit then I switched back to Windows (95 I believe), but even back then there were dedicated forums for the Penguin (the Linux emblem), so today, the number of users in the world has mathematically increased... You know the rest...

I just watched the ad in question. One thing that shocked me when looking at the price was that for just a few euros more, you can buy a 500GB SSD instead of a 64GB flash drive. It's true! By purchasing a new hard drive, you will need to reinstall the operating system (Windows, Mac, or Linux) as well as the programs, but since the SSD is 4 to 5 times faster than the old hard drive, you'll boost your computer for a minimal price difference while starting anew with a clean installation.

In my opinion, the entire system should be installed on the USB stick without being placed on the internal hard drive... This is probably why there are several USB sticks with different capacities. The PC uses its tools, but it no longer stores anything via its original OS since everything goes on this USB stick... As an IT professional, this is how this tool bypasses the original OS by troubleshooting your problematic PC... It is a good troubleshooting tool, but not for the long term since the capacity of the largest USB stick is only 64 GB... Cyrille Legall

Hello.

To troubleshoot a computer using this USB drive, as long as it has the drivers for the computer on which it was created, there may be conflicts if it's plugged into another PC and started up from there.
To fix a PC, nothing beats a suitable tool. An installation DVD of any version of Linux can easily intervene on Windows partitions, but a tailored LiveCD is even better, like this one: https://www.malekal.com/malekal-live-cd-reparer-depanner-pc-windows/ It includes various disk management tools, an antivirus, an internet connection, and plenty of other tools to check and troubleshoot a PC.
