It's an Android smart TV box T95Z+ and it's an M3U list valid for 1 year that can be played with VLC or other Android software.

OK, it's a BOX that functions like a Smartphone... if it's not blocked..
-- With Google Play Store, you can install VLC for Android on it.
-- And by using VLC, you can copy the URL address of your IPTV, to place it in the Network stream of VLC.
-- And you click on "Play" in the bottom right of VLC
-- and you press the "record" button (red circle) The entire duration of the show is needed... and you find your File in the DCIM === Video or downloads folders.

The real problem comes from triggering the startup in your absence, if there’s no one around.

Hello, you can use the Android app "IPTV Extreme", it allows you to record live or with scheduling, do some tests first.
The response is a bit late but may still be useful to others.

I don't think you can record IPTV because it's streaming... however, you can watch it on Replay.

Of course, we can record IPTV; that's the principle of ADSLTV, for example (you can schedule a recording in advance, but the application has to be open, I think), or other applications on computers...
There you go, that was just my little contribution while passing by ;-)

However, I don't know anything about Android boxes...

Yes, Molotov does that too, but it's bookmarked on the server site, it's not a recording on your end, on your hard drive.

You don't respond regarding the model of your BOX-TV...?
You also don't say whether it's a TV channel or something else (e.g. YouTube).

You don't provide the model of your Set Top Box...?? nor the method of receiving TV channels... if it's as you indicate with IPTV, it's via the internet and streaming... so it's not possible to record...
Unless you put a camcorder in front of your screen...!

However, with Android systems, you can use Replay if it's about our TV channels... some applications like Molotov also allow you to bookmark the show and watch it later. The software CapTVty http://captvty.fr/ allows you to download the show's file within 7 days.
