Hello,

I saw some messages explaining how to create bar charts with standard deviations in Excel, but I need to do this on a curve (evolution over time). Can you tell me how to do that? Thank you very much in advance!

Configuration: Windows / Internet Explorer 11.0

    Hello,
Whether it's a curve or a histogram, the process is the same.
Select the data series >> Format the data series >> Y error bar.
-If the standard deviation value is the same for all points, check Standard deviation.
-Otherwise, choose custom value and fill in the fields in the input boxes. You will need to have calculated the standard deviations in 1 or 2 columns beforehand.

Thank you for your response. I had indeed tried, as I had seen the answers for the histograms. So I continued to look in that direction
Finally, by clicking on my curve as you told me, I realized that the chart tools menu appears. By opening the layout menu -> analysis -> I unfolded the error bars tab -> more error bar options and there, a window opens like the one you mentioned, where you can choose custom value and copy the values I had for my standard deviations
      Thank you
