PS3 Hard Drive Compatible with Computer

Hello, I'm seeking your help because I worked last summer and this month I have saved enough money to buy a computer, but money doesn't grow on trees and I would like to save more... I noticed that the hard drive of my ultra slim PS3 (the PS3 that has a "cap" for the games) has SATA connections, but before plugging it into a brand new PC, I would like to know if this drive is compatible with PCs? If not, how can I make it compatible? Thank you in advance, best regards

The disk is compatible, but it will need to be formatted and therefore you will lose the data (it's just a SATA disk, I put one on my slim, it's nothing special).
