Hello, I have a problem with the installation of GIMP. I get this error every time I try: "The network location or unit you have specified does not exist or is not accessible. Please choose another destination."
I had installed GIMP a year ago on a hard drive that has recently crashed, without any issues, but I cannot reinstall it now.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

The file was saved in a "Downloads" folder like everything I download. Anyway, I saved the folder on the desktop but it hasn't changed anything, I still get this message saying "The drive or network location you have selected does not exist or is not accessible. Please choose another destination."
I don't understand, I had already installed GIMP without any issues.

    Good evening,
It seems that you haven't chosen the right place to save or run Gimp because you are asked to select another destination.

Start by saving Gimp to your desktop as the destination. Then, right-click on your downloaded file and have it scanned by your antivirus if you have one. If there are no viruses, then you can proceed with the installation.

Note: When you download software, always choose to save it before launching its installation.

    Re,
Well, if we tell you that your file has been saved in your "Downloads" folder, it means that the Gimp executable is in that folder.

And you write and I quote you: "Anyway, I saved the folder on the desktop but it didn't change anything."

You don't seem to make the distinction between a file and a folder. There is certainly something you are not doing correctly.

Search in your Downloads folder for the file gimp.exe or something similar. Exe means "executable." It is the one that executes the installation of any software on Windows, if you have Windows of course; which you haven't mentioned. If you're on Mac, it's not the same file extension for installing software.

So it might be time for you to mention which operating system you are using. Moreover, when you register on this forum, it is mentioned that you should state which system you are using if you want to get more help and relevant answers. We can't guess.

My system is Windows 10, sorry for not specifying it. And for:
"And you write, and I quote you: "Anyway, I saved the folder on the desktop but it hasn't changed anything.""
I downloaded the file again and it was saved on the desktop this time.
Anyway, I launch gimp.exe, I follow the installation steps and at the end I get "The drive or network location you selected does not exist or is not accessible. Please choose another destination." that appears. :)

    Hi,
You must not be choosing the right location for the installation. I looked it up a bit and you need to install it in Windows 10:
    C:\Program Files\WindowsApps
