Hello,

I am working in Word 2010. I have just written a long text with an automatic and dynamic table of contents. It consists of fields.

Unfortunately, it contains an error, as it considers some pages with illustrations at the end of the text as titles. However, it only displays the page numbers for them.

First question: What could be the source of this anomaly and how can I correct it? After checking the relevant pages, only the "section" and "caption" styles are present, no "title" in sight.

Second question: In order to make the correction directly on the table of contents, it would need to be converted into static text. For the bibliography field, it's quite simple, as there is a button provided for it. For the table of contents, I haven't found anything similar. How can I convert it into static text?

Thank you in advance.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Mozilla 11.0

    Hello

Click on the images and change the style to "normal"
You must have applied a "heading" style to your images... hence their appearance in the table of contents

      Thank you,

That's what I just did. As a result, two or three pages of images have been placed directly after the table of contents... Understand it if you can.

      Here I am again.

The first illustration, which is on a right-hand page, was supposed to leave the preceding page blank. To that end, it included a section break. For some reason, the first illustration thought it was a section break. When I inserted a line break, this image moved back to the correct place and automatically reverted to the "normal" style. Additionally, it disappeared from the table of contents.

I assigned the "normal" style to the other images, which subsequently also left the table of contents. The dotted lines with the page numbers of the illustrations in question also disappeared from the table of contents.

You were absolutely right, and I thank you for your advice.

Another detail that surely matters: I changed the section break into a page break.
