USB Wi-Fi key for tablet

Question

Hello,  I am using a USB antenna key Alfa AWU036NHR v2 for my PC when I am on the go. Is it possible to connect such an antenna key (or another one) to a tablet, which would allow me not to carry the PC everywhere?  Thank you in advance, best regards.  Configuration: Windows / Firefox 45.0

Hello,  No. First, you would need a USB port, and then the drivers; I doubt they exist on Android.  However, you can connect your phone and enable tethering.

Thank you. The USB port exists. Using the smartphone: a good idea, except if I can't get Wi-Fi with one, I won't get it with the other. My 3/4G plan is small, and I keep it for emergencies. The card in the key is a Realtek. It's surprising that no one, including the manufacturers, has looked into the issue considering that tablets + keyboards are increasingly replacing laptops. Hello,  Unless I have misunderstood the issue (which is possible), I don't see the purpose of this WiFi key or a smartphone used as a hotspot.  Indeed, all the tablets I know (although I don't know them all) have an integrated WiFi module and thus allow for a connection with a modem or WiFi hotspot. If that’s not the case, there is a wide choice of those that do.  Furthermore, the driver issue raised by Aranud87 is a deal breaker.  Correct me if I'm wrong.  Best regards.
