Hello. The video card of my computer: HP Pavilion-550-189nf (energy star)
model number: P3K28EA
serial number: CZC54933ZL

is too weak (memory-wise) to run the latest video games, so I would like to know if it is possible to replace it with a card that has
more memory? If so, which model!
the required configuration: CPU: Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD equivalent - RAM 6GB - Graphic: NVIDIA GTX 650 2GB or AMD HD7770 2GB - HDD: 25GB
thank you for your help.

This PC doesn't have too little memory to run video games, but a relatively weak graphics card.

Replacing it with a GTX x60, x70, or even x90 is a good solution.

Because the manuals don't tell you everything... But not nothing either, right!

Good evening and thank you, Erwan. Not knowing much about computers, I just repeated what Metaboli told me (dedicated memory too low, not enough memory), but I just received a message from HP saying (they too) that it was possible, but without giving me more details.
Thank you.
By the way, could you suggest a link where I can find these cards? (to avoid me struggling)
Thank you.

" I just repeated what Metaboli was telling me (dedicated memory too low, not enough memory) "

Who is Metaboli?
He may be right, but for a specific game, not for games in general!
Understand that the GTX 650 graphics card with 2 GB of onboard memory is sufficient for most games...
BUT WAIT... I think I understand my mistake: your PC does not have this card!
For now, it only has the integrated graphics coprocessor in the CPU, the Intel HD Graphics 4600! Do you confirm?

Indeed, this graphics coprocessor is far from powerful enough to run "big" recent 3D games!

On the other hand, any graphics card priced over €80 will give you much better gaming performance, even the GTX 650 (which is the entry-level for gaming graphics cards).

Check out some graphics card comparisons, as well as online stores to know which card to choose based on your preferences, and where to find it based on your budget.

Hello Erwan-métaboli is an online game seller.
As for the coprocessor, I'm personally struggling...
Attached is the response from métaboli plus a DxDiag if that can help
Thank you for the dxdiag.
Your video card lacks dedicated memory, this is most certainly the reason for your poor performance. It would need 10 times more to run the game under proper conditions. To be more precise, you would simply need to change/add a different, more powerful/recent video card.

Hi

A GTX 650 or an HD 7770 can't handle the latest games, they were already outdated with the first Batman Arkham, so...

GTX 960 4GB + 500 watts 80+ power supply, no choice.

Hello Djo
The game is running, but slowly (Rise of the Tomb Raider)
on my Acer 5820TG Timeline laptop
Tomb Raider does not run (does not start) while Batman Arkham worked fine
dxdiag of the laptop.

Well, it's clear that Rise of The Tomb Raider isn't going to run, even on minimum settings, on this outdated laptop... Maybe you should check the minimum requirements before wanting to play.

Well, jokes aside -
why a GTX960 4 GB when apparently a
GTX960 2 GB is sufficient?

Because many recent games are demanding in terms of VRAM ;-)

" For the coprocessor, personally, I'm drowning... "

The coprocessor (graphic, in this case) is a processor dedicated to graphics placed in the same case as the main processor. Hence the name "coprocessor".
The graphic coprocessor uses resources from the main system (so, the RAM on the sticks) that are allocated to it, to the detriment of other tasks.
In clearer terms: if the system has a total of 4 GB of physical memory, and 1 GB is dedicated to the graphics processor integrated into the main processor, then 3 GB is effectively available for programs.

" the response from Métaboli plus a DxDiag if that can help
Thank you for the DxDiag.
Your video card lacks dedicated memory, which is most certainly the reason for your poor performance. It would need 10 times more to run the game under proper conditions. To be more precise, you would need to change/add another video card, simply put, a more powerful/recent one. "

Naturally, if you launch a "hungry" video game on a graphics processor integrated into the main processor, it's going to be difficult to be smooth.
The graphic coprocessor is a bit like the glove compartment in a car. It's handy, small, and cheap, but if you want to put a big suitcase in it (the big game with shiny 3D and crazy visual effects), it doesn't fit (or if it does, you have to compress the suitcase... but then you have to see the state of the items).

Because the manuals don't say everything...
But not nothing either, huh!
