How to make a buggy or kart-cross

Hello, I have a project that I would like to do with my father: to build a two-seater buggy or kart-cross. I found the chassis, it's metal tubes that we can weld.
It will have a Honda 4-stroke lawnmower engine; here’s a photo, the buggy or kart-cross would look like this, and I would like it to have seat belts as well, and the wheels would be from a four-wheeler or a car.

      Ps: for a two-seater side by side, what measurements would be needed to ensure there is enough space between the two seats? Please respond.
