As stated in the title, this is what Avast has been telling me since the last update, and I can't remove it?

    Files in use by Windows, in particular, cannot be scanned during a scan. The "bug" in Avast that displays the endless list of these files has been recurring for years and is well-known.

    Don't worry. These files should not be deleted. The general rule is to ignore them.

    Avast monitors these files in real-time when they are opened or closed and also checks them in memory while they are in use, so there's no problem.

    A "startup scan in Avast" can still analyze these files if you really want to, as Avast performs the scan in that specific case before Windows is launched, so they are not in use at that time. Generally, we only do a startup scan if infections are discovered, and Avast will then suggest running this particular (and particularly long) scan.
