Hello, I'm trying to enter my W7 activation key via the command prompt following the advice on this forum, and when I type slmgr in the terminal, it tells me that slmgr is not a recognized command, yet that's exactly what you indicate as the command to enter, I don't understand.. please help me.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 35.0.1916.114

Hi, thanks, but I'm no further along, I have no place to enter my activation key, it doesn't tell me if Windows is activated or if I'm in the 30-day period, so I'm trying through the command prompt and they say to enter the slmgr command, and when I do, it doesn't work.

    It must be here:

    Control Panel - System

I've never needed a key, so it's a bit hard to say.

Thank you, yes, but on this page, I don't even see the Windows activation section, so what should I do?

Actually, when I search for Windows activation in the control panel under system, it tells me that Windows cannot access the requested file.

I looked everywhere, and that's exactly the way I explained earlier.
I remember when I bought a new computer, I also entered the key that way for Vista.

Why isn't it working for you? No idea.
