Hello,

Upon opening the PC, a scan was performed (quickly, about a minute) by the Avira program "Luke filewalker".

I can't find anything on Google to learn more about this program.

Thank you

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 29.0

Hello,

With antivir Luke Filewalker, it’s the (Engine) window that analyzes your PC.

If you just installed it, that’s perfectly normal or it’s configured to analyze your PC on startup or during daily tasks...

To deactivate it just in case: Delete Luke Filewalker

See you soon

Hi Adrien.

I installed Avira about a week ago.
This is the first time I've seen this scan by Luke.

The important question actually is, is this program useful or not?

If it's not, I'll uninstall it because I remove everything that is useless to me.

Thank you

Hello

This program is an integral part of Avira. Therefore, it is useful for the antivirus.

I can't find anything on Google to learn more about this program.

Hmm:

First link, first answer. ;-p

Hi Pierre

Indeed the first link.
But I don't know any more than that.
The answer only partly satisfies me, I would say.
I can't find the exact utility of this program anywhere.
And can we remove it? Well, apparently not too much.

Anyway, I’m sticking to your answer, namely that it is an integral part of Avira, and that's that.

Thank you.

As mentioned here, or there in the first link of the Google search, it's the part of the antivirus that performs system scans, either automatically, on demand, or on a single file (right-click / scan with antivirus).

You can remove it, but you'll lose the scanning function of the antivirus, which would be a shame.
