Hello,

I installed a statistics software, and it keeps asking for the msstdfmt.dll file. I don't know if it's due to Windows 8 or what, because it works fine on Windows XP and Windows 7?

download MSSTDFMT.DLL C:\Windows\SysWOW64

save it in the folder C:\Windows\SysWOW64. Stay in the syswow64 folder and locate the file cmd.exe. Right-click on cmd.exe and click on "Run as administrator". The black command screen will appear

Type Regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\MSSTDFMT.DLL
Now on the command screen input, you need to:
C:\Windows\system32> Regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\MSSTDFMT.DLL
Press "Enter"

You need to check if this DLL exists in a folder other than C:\Windows\system32\
press the Windows and R keys
Type cmd.exe
In the command window, enter the following:

cd\
dir msstdfmt.dll /s /p

I am on win8;  Yes, it shows me "Run-time error 713 "You need the following file to be  installed on your machine " MSSTDFMT.DLL".  Yet the same application runs well on win 7.

Hello

I apologize but I tried to solve the problem remotely because, to be honest, I didn't have the laptop with me. I followed the instructions but found no solution.
Now I have the laptop in front of me and I should fix the problem.

So, I found the SysWOW64 directory where I copied the MSSTDFMT.DLL file.

And I executed it from the system32 directory!!!
