Invalid MS-DOS function

Hello,  For the past 2 days, I have been unable to modify or delete my Word files because the "MS-DOS function" is not valid.  How can I fix my problem??  Thanks in advance!!

This message "Invalid MS-DOS" really annoyed me! I finally found the solution on a forum!

If you have laptops, some are designed to shut down quickly and restart quickly, which does not close the tasks already open!

Here is the solution to your problem: Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Power Options -> Choose what the power buttons do (on the left) -> Change settings that are currently unavailable -> Uncheck "Turn on fast startup (recommended)" -> Save changes

There you go, after that you can restart your computer, thanks to this process your computer will automatically perform updates and close programs before shutting down.

Hello.  Press Windows and X Click on Command Prompt (Admin). Then type sfc /scannow

It's a somewhat special file, dissect it with the command prompt in administrator mode.

Copy the text below without the brackets.

[ findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > c:\cbs_log.txt ]

Then press Windows and X
Click on <ital> Command Prompt (admin)</ital>.
Paste the text into the command prompt window, then press Enter, a file named cbs_log.txt will be created in C:\
And can be viewed with Notepad for example.

Only look for items with failures (Cannot repair......)
