Hello,

I would like to know the difference between a dual-core processor and a Core i3. Could someone help me learn more about their characteristics? Thank you.

Hello!

I'll try to keep it simple. An Intel Core i3 is primarily a dual-core processor (2 physical cores), integrating both a kind of graphics card and many other small modules common to all processors. At least, that's what you can see when looking at its architecture. However, the operating system will see 4 cores (logical cores) at the processor level. This is possible thanks to a technology called Hyper-Threading, which doubles the number of physical cores of the processor. Since it has 2 physical cores, it will therefore have 4 logical cores; for processors with 4 physical cores like some Core i7s, there will be 8 logical cores.
