Hi everyone
I am a reseller of TV, Hi-Fi, and household appliances in the south of France near Perpignan, under the name PULSAT
I have sold the ps42c96hd to many of my clients because I find this product has a great price-quality ratio
I encountered an issue with a series of these TVs:
2 of my clients subscribed to Canal Sat told me that the TV would turn off and then back on by itself in just a few seconds
The third one (not subscribed to Canal Sat) told me that when he was watching a DVD, he had the same problem
After contacting Samsung, a setting in the service mode menu needs to be changed
Personally, I went back to my clients to make the modification and since then everything has been working perfectly
Send me an email if you encounter this kind of problem with your plasma screen and I will guide you on what to do

Hello, I also have a problem with my Samsung plasma TV. I have sound but no picture, and it’s no longer under warranty. I would like to get it repaired. Can someone tell me how much it will cost and if it’s worth repairing or if I should buy a new one? I bought it for 2200 euros two years ago. I will not buy Samsung again.
I have a PS42E7HX/XEC plasma, bought on 27/02/07, and of course, it broke down on 22/03/08, so the warranty is expired.
The problem is that the TV turns off and we hear the switch click, but it doesn't restart; it has happened several times before, but it always came back on. Except last Friday.
I’m waiting for the call from the technician at Samsung for now.

I have a Samsung TV PS42D51S and I have a problem. It's been a while since I bought this TV and of course the warranty has expired. In fact, when I turn on my screen, there are a lot of small red lines on the light colors displayed on the screen and it lasts all the time, there is no break.
I would like to know if this has happened to anyone and especially what the problem with my TV is.

Good evening,
I find in this forum the problems that I myself have with my PS42S5H.
My plasma, which is 2 and a half years old, after 15-20 minutes of use, though it can happen at any time, stops displaying anything regardless of the video source. I still have sound, but no image.
Switching between video input modes (video 1, video 2...) sometimes allows me to get the display back, but turning it off, or sometimes even a power cut, allows me to regain the display. The strangest thing is that it can function properly for hours after going through this phase of malfunction.
Does anyone have an idea to help me? Maybe a part needs to be replaced.
Thank you all.

Hello everyone,
If I understand correctly, the symptom of a black screen with continuing sound may be due to a faulty board or a weak power supply.
In my case, with a PS42S5H, it seems that the screen has difficulty starting up, it flickers. I interpret that but it seems that the panel may not be directly at fault.
Does anyone have information on the affected components and possibly their references?

Hello,
I recently purchased a Samsung TV, model LE32B651, but after just a few minutes of use, my screen turns off while the sound remains!
I have noticed that this problem is recurrent among Samsung TV owners while browsing different forums, and I tried to see by entering the "service menu" with the following manipulation:
TV in standby => INFO => MENU => MUTE => Standby
I then access a menu offering me 4 or 5 choices (I can't remember exactly), and in the menu, I apparently need to go to ADJUST, but I don't have any option like that. I'm looking to disable the so-called WATCHDOG mode and also disable automatic updates via terrestrial waves.
Could you please indicate to me precisely if the manipulation I'm trying to do is a good thing considering the model of my TV? I also want to clarify that I successfully updated the TV software using a USB stick!
Thank you in advance
Sincerely

Hello everyone,
My problem with my Samsung plasma TV PS42C96HDX is:
several times a day at fairly specific times, the screen turns on and off by itself 15 seconds later without any sound or image
the screen has already been changed once and the problem is still the same
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi everyone,
On a Samsung PS50Q96HD plasma, I no longer have any sound.
When I adjust the volume, a "Headphones" icon (black and purple) appears that I can't get rid of.
I don't have any headphones plugged in, and I can't find any reference to this visual in the documentation.
When I plug in headphones, the icon disappears but there's still no sound in the headphones.
Do you have any ideas? Otherwise, is it possible to reset the television?
For your information, it's been a week since the Samsung hotline has been giving me the runaround and I still haven't been able to get an appointment with a technician.
Thanks in advance.

Good evening,
I also had the same problem: on the evening of April 5th, the image "froze" and then a black screen appeared but with sound. Clarification: this is the PS50P7HD which was delivered to me in early March... At least this product has a 2-year warranty... I’m waiting for customer service who should come to repair my TV on Wednesday: that’s 1 month later!
Cheers

hi
I got the solution from the store that sold me the TV. It's a problem with the TNT update. The TV searches automatically, and when it doesn't find the TNT, it goes black for about 1 second. The store performed the operation on the television; you just need to disable the update.
Go see the store or a technician.
I returned the Samsung TV and exchanged it for a Panasonic that works really well.

The sound from my TV cuts out completely intermittently, and to make it functional again, I have to reselect the HDMI AV1 source and the sound returns to normal. What is the problem?
Hello everyone; I have a Samsung TV model le32s86bdx and I also had an issue with my screen, it would turn off and on by itself. I called the number 3260 and asked Samsung, and I spoke to a technician who told me:
Leave the TV on the TNT channels of France 2 or France 3 or La 5 for 2 hours non-stop so that the TV can retrieve the update, then turn it off and turn it back on. Normally, the update will be retrieved and a message will guide us on what to do next. And there you go, normally no more problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck everyone!!!

Personally, I had an LCD TV LE32s86bdx... and it broke down 4 months after use. The screen was pixelating and then I felt like I was looking at a photo negative, the contrast was dreadful. I just got a new one after a month of exchanges with Samsung, finally they gave me a store credit where I had bought it.
I'm wondering if it was just bad luck or if Samsung is a bad brand.

Good evening, all the TVs in the "S" series (S86) have a power on and off issue!! To solve this problem, you need to update the TNT software (version 1013) and change the "watch dog" option ('ON' to 'OFF'). But for that, you need to contact Samsung's customer service. It worked for me!!! I have no more issues.

procedure to enter service mode
TV on
standby with remote
info
menu
mute
standby
now the TV starts and use the down arrow to go to "adjust" then enter
go to watchdog and set it to off
then standby
next go to the d.menu and disable "the channel update in standby"
and there you go, your TV shutdown and random reboot issues are resolved
Thank you in advance.
I bought a Samsung PS42C96 today and I have the same problem (it turns off and restarts after a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes!)
I saw that you had the solution but I did not understand the steps to follow, could you please explain the process to me again?
Otherwise, do you know how I should proceed for the warranty, how long does it take for an exchange ... ??
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards.
