Printer reinstallation: error 0x000006be

Hello,
Since I reset my PC (Windows Vista), I can't reinstall the printer (Epson).
When I start the CD provided with the printer, everything goes smoothly with the Wi-Fi connection, I get a message saying the installation is successful (however, with USB, there's no recognition). The issue is that when I try to print, or in the control panel, no printer shows up. I'm told that the print spooler is not active, and after activation, the error message 0x000006be appears. I downloaded the latest driver version for the printer from the Epson site, but nothing works.
I'm feeling a bit helpless in front of this problem, my various searches on forums haven't helped much, I don't know what to do anymore: if someone could help me...
