Hello,

I just ran a scan of my PC with different virus and malware scanners and the result for the uplay file looks suspicious; it is a file linked to Ubisoft.

The result after online scanning with different scanners leaves me perplexed!

What do you think? virus, a false positive or just not very healthy origin?

Thank you

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 21.0

I’m not sure, I haven’t tried it yet, I’ll take a look at it but I think I could play more without Uplay

It comes from the installation of the game Driver San Francisco via Steam, it’s neither pirated nor modified in any way, it’s shady all the same

Well, given the detections... and the antivirus detecting it... it smells like a false positive :) -- .::. Security Contributor .::.

    What’s it for?
Where did you download it from?

Strange, it’s not signed by Ubisoft .... if it’s a crack, don’t be surprised!

This is a file related to Ubisoft Game Launcher; I didn’t download it, it installs automatically when you install an Ubisoft game. I just searched the net and apparently it’s malware-originated!
