Hello everyone,
a friend wants to upgrade his setup by only changing the graphics card. I should mention that he has a small tower with a motherboard labeled with a reference, but I don't know anything about "low profile".
He just found two GPUs on "le bon coin":
- GTS450
- GTX460
The question is: are they compatible with his motherboard and will they fit in his tower? Which one should he choose?
Thank you for your answers.

Configuration: Linux / Firefox 3.6.12

Hello. The GTX460 will definitely be a bit more powerful than the 450, but to be worthwhile, it should be priced under 100 €. If your friend's motherboard has a pci-express X16 connector, a good power supply of at least 400W for the GTS450 / 500W for the GTX460, and a standard ATX case, whether mid or full tower, then it should be fine.

Thank you for the response.
His tower is a small model. I'll check for the PCIe x16.
It seems to me that he indeed finds it for €80.

Are you talking about the small Acer desktop PCs?

In that case, you'll need to change the case...
