Thank you, Charlot! Sorry for the trash talk, but I felt a little attacked since I’ve never had any problems on this site. I can understand that some people have had issues, but to say that I practically live on another planet if I don’t see the problems felt a bit much.
No, I’ve never had problems related to stolen information on my computer, I’ve never been a victim of harassment by men waiting for me outside my home, I’ve never been a victim of bitching, smear campaigns, or disrespect. That's why I took it very badly to be called ugly, a welfare recipient, a cheated on woman, or frustrated, etc...............everyone has their own way of acting, respecting, and being treated. Thank you again, Charlot, and no hard feelings towards anyone.

Hello everyone, to respond to Sophie, I don't quite understand what you're saying. You're talking about denigration, laughing, and that some people are liars, as well as cheap advertising, while further in your text you talk about staying objective; that's contradictory. If your post was directed at me, I have never denigrated anyone, and in my comments (already mentioned if you reread me), I relate my experience, so I don't see the purpose of this response nor the coherence of the subject because some people are just hitting their heads. We can't please everyone, just like with dating sites; the wheel turns, clicks form, and that won't change. And by the way, for cheap advertising, you'll know that it costs about $10,000 for a cheap ad. Sometimes when you don't know what you're talking about, silence is golden.
I always try to remain objective and impartial, but we are drifting away from the subject. I was kicked out of mtlwebcam.com, and despite everything, I don't have a spirit of revenge, but rather I want to relay my experience regarding this topic. I won't repeat myself, as someone will throw a tomato at me and say that my site is lousy too.
To conclude, I am not the administrator of this forum, but I have difficulty understanding its purpose—smear campaign, frustration... I said what I had to say to Locus, so if you have things you don't like, stop hiding your heads in the sand and tell him directly.

The pleasure of discussing on a forum with people who don’t know how to read a forum! :-D
You see, my message following cocotte's is slightly indented to the right, which is actually part of the forum's structure. The structure allows the discussion to evolve in different branches while keeping it readable. Provided you know how to use it, of course.
So after this little 101 introduction to the world of forums, if you reread (and follow the structure), you will see that my message was a reply to cocotte.
-"Oh damn it! That’s how a forum works! :-D"
After this brief explanation regarding forums, I would love to give you a media outreach 101 course because if you're really paying $10,000 for advertising for your site, you’re really getting ripped off or else you’re a small client that nobody wants to negotiate with and your ad is really trash and they’re annoyed to play it on their airwaves. There are very good marketing agencies in Montreal that have excellent grouped advertising plans or packages based on very low CPMs.
Yes indeed, when you don’t know what you're talking about, silence is golden. Especially when you can’t keep up with the advertising market. In this case, use AdWords because if I look at the ranking and presence of the aforementioned sites, they have a glaring deficiency in terms of ranking and their presence on the Web. This is not trivial for sites that primarily offer services... on the Web.
So if you’re paying $10,000 for ads and your site is ranked that low. Not only does the marketing side need a rethink but you're getting double f...ed.
To continue with cocotte, since I’m already here and I see that there’s a high risk of being read halfway, I was referring to your posts where you laugh at people who testify to having had problems with this site without even questioning them.
And we don’t care whether you’ve been banned or not, whether you like it or not... The question here is who has had problems with this site and those who want to respond do respond. That’s what forums are for: Sharing information but if it displeases those who come to save face.
$10,000 lol lol lol ;)

Hello everyone, you see Sophie, your frustration is clouding your "objective" judgment and as for the ad, if you consider yourself a marketing specialist, you should write to Astral Media Canal D and tell them they're out of touch. Congratulations on your knowledge and critical sense; the price of an ad is $43 for a 15-second slot, plus production costs of around $2,500 at minimum. You need to hire someone from the Union des Artistes to feature a person in the ad or even a voice, which adds additional costs, and it's not because it's my site, as you say, that it’s problematic, but it's the standard rate. As for your 101 course on structure, thank you, I wrote all that down in my notebook so I wouldn't forget.
So to conclude, you should consider working at Canal D; it would probably cost me less, and you seem to have the solution to all problems. Your frustration has clouded your objectivity—probably a lack of sex.
Charlot

Let's talk about frustration. Why would I be frustrated? Because I just made you look like a big fool who knows nothing about advertising and struggles to use a forum and close two tags correctly on a web page? I don't see how that would frustrate me because I must admit that it is even a pleasure every time I come across this kind of ignorant person who exposes "their knowledge" without realizing that someone specialized might stumble upon their nonsense. That you take everyone for fools and believe that you could be credible... that's your business, but I don't think I'm the kind of little woman who finds herself in your entourage to whom you could tell anything.
To get back to the subject of advertising, my dear:
From what you're saying, it costs terribly expensive to pay someone who is part of the union of artists. Know that every time someone signs up with an artistic agency, it costs them minimal fees to be part of it, and many people are willing to participate in commercial projects for less than $1,000. I've seen people accept $150 for a fortune-telling ad. As for voices, do some research online, and you'll see that it's not so expensive to hire speakers because it's a field where competition is very strong among freelancers. And tell me, since when do we have to hire someone who is part of the union of artists for an ad? AH AH AH. The lady from Walmart is going to be happy ;)
And your rates, you don't even know what they are. Rates are negotiated with different advertising agencies because they all have different prices depending on their clients. The more an agency has a habit of buying and offers large orders, the more the agency's clients benefit. That's how Astral Media was able to offer its clients in 2006 nearly 50% off the usual antenna cost because they already had a big client in their pocket who brought in enough to get discounted airtime.
Make me laugh with your $43 for 30 seconds. There are many other considerations to take into account. First of all, advertising is not sold by the second ahahah but by blocks of time. Blocks have different prices depending on the time of day, the current programming, etc. An ad aired after midnight will cost much less because the target audience is not people who get up to work and who are going to buy audio equipment for $10,000. There are time blocks that are practically worthless because merchants don't want them, and others that are very popular. It's precisely on that popularity and the advertising revenue that the agency will report in the end that the prices vary.
As for the corporate video at $2,500, I'll leave it to people to judge. But in the end, I question. Why spend $10,000 on advertising to promote a site that has a design even uglier than the ones found on Template Monster for less than $45?
And if you tell me that a site costs $10,000, I'll laugh even harder in your face because that's my job ;)
Not too frustrated, my little man (lacking sex)?

lol, you say it costs $10,000 for an ad and then you explain that it's $43 for 15 seconds, so $172 per minute. At that price, I think I’ll use the ad to sell my winter tires and my old couch, or $1,720 to annoy people for 10 minutes is not expensive! Do you have higher education? Given how you write and the way you calculate, I imagine for you, higher education is secondary school II.
I went to see your site. Should I say it or not without wanting to be mean... It is... how to put it...
No, I won't say anything. I'll let people judge for themselves. I hope you really didn’t spend $10,000 to advertise... that. If so: I feel a little sorry. Just for fun, how much do you expect people to pay to see that?
For the montrealwebcam ad, have you seen it? It's completely terrible. It looks like a PowerPoint presentation but probably made with Windows Movie Maker, including all imaginable transitions to really get a nauseating effect. On an HD television, you can even see that they've put images of super girls on screenshots of current images from the site because you can see the lower image popping out twice. And the girl’s voice is enough to make you throw up! The guy probably called a 4.95$ per minute erotic line to ask the girl to do her voice. I can’t believe it.
To be filed in the archives with the Velour Life and Lakota ads :o))

Look Sophie, you have a superiority complex, and debating anything with you
is not pleasant. You know everything and you act like you know it all,
you don’t argue, you insult people.
It’s probably a lack of education or something else, so it doesn’t matter if you talk to me
about tags or anything else, I’m not bragging and I have a higher education. You are arrogant
immature, I hate the person you are who is ready to do anything to bring someone down. From the beginning
that I write to you, the only thing you can say is “mouahha” and childish nonsense. You see your impressions on my site
I don’t care because you would do anything to bring me down or anyone else, because your opinions will always take precedence
over others,
because you have a very narrow-minded view. I come here to share discussions and debate things
with people who know how to talk without pretending they are the little know-it-alls. You are a troubled person, and you won’t stop
until you have the last word on your convictions. So look, for my part
the subject is closed with you, I have nothing to discuss with a person who constantly insults and belittles other people.
I’m comfortable in my skin and my site too.
Find yourself a teenager to argue with, I’m done with you. From the beginning, I’ve been trying to have a sensible conversation
while you keep bragging that you know everything, while I am respectful when I write to you.
Don’t reply to this post, you want the last word, I give it to you because a poorly raised and brazen person like you
doesn’t deserve a reply.

Charlot,
If I may.
It just so happens that I work as a freelancer for 3 of the main advertising agencies in Quebec, and what I'm reading right now makes me smile. Undoubtedly, the cousin of a friend of your friend's girlfriend made you believe that it worked this way in advertising, and you rushed to repeat that on a forum thinking it would make you seem trendy in that field. But here's the danger of looking ridiculous yourself when the friend in question mocked you. I understand that you might be hurt in your pride, but understand that on a forum, you can't throw just anything out there without expecting it to be debated at some point.
To get back to the subject. Sites like montrealwebcam are frequented primarily by people who do not have a great knowledge of computers, and the risk of having problems can partly be caused by a bad configuration of their computer. On the other hand, these sites are not very recommendable because they are managed by anyone with the cheapest hardware and software resources on the market. Montrealwebcam seems to operate with a PHP script that costs less than $99, in which the owner has tweaked it the best they could without having any notions of security or programming. Everyone wants to make money and thinks that by investing little, they'll succeed. People who are starting out on the Internet will pay for this kind of site, and gradually, when they finally discover that there are much safer and better-designed sites that offer this kind of service for free, like camfrog, userplane, yahoo, etc.
Have a good day.
If I may.

You see Philippe, what I said about the ad is true, I don't see why
I would lie, because it's me who pays the bill in the end so
I also know how it works, no need to be a freelancer to understand
that. As for the fleurdelis, people should learn some manners and get to know
others before saying they are worthless; we often criticize others for what we
are ourselves!!!

Here it is,
I've been reading your messages for a few days and I've done a little analysis on 3 competing websites to mtlwcam.
First of all, mtlwcam definitely does not install trojans or viruses but rather a video compression control
based on the transfer capabilities of network cards, and I must admit that it seems quite efficient.
Anyway, I've analyzed their outputs and there are no personal data being sent and there
are no open ports, otherwise your antivirus or antispyware would have warned you.
The only personal information that I was happy to see is a couple where the woman was giving her man a blowjob.
Secondly, after a few days of surfing in this world, it seems that a few other websites of the same kind
including the worst one I've found, montrealamateur.com, are much more likely to collect personal data because it
is full of hackers and according to my tests, it is very easy to appropriate the data of users from montrealamateur.
Another similar one is lescurieux.com which is also a real sieve regarding the security of your information.
All Flash sites use the RTMP protocol which is readable textually on internet transfers, and therefore your information is also visible.
There are no trojans or viruses installed by any of these sites, except maybe montrealamateur.com which I haven’t finished studying.
Finally, I simply believe it is a smear campaign by those who started this post and that you continue to fuel.

Hello... If, as you say, the site is secure, then tell me why my cleaning software "registry booster" (which, by the way, received 5 stars from Microsoft) keeps removing the ActiveX control installed by meetstream. The same goes for my software "speed up my pc" from the same publisher, which removes everything related to meetstream...
It's nice to smile! ;-)
But you see, the problem is a fundamental one!
Of all the participants here on this post, only 2 are registered members.
All the others are anonymous, so it is obvious that the first requester will not indicate resolved here.
And as a result, this slander, as you say, might not have occurred if the first person here had to show their credentials by registering as a member.
And that would also have allowed us to focus our efforts on real problems of contamination and violations of privacy.
Good evening to you, Jal.

It's easy to say things your way, opinions well given
and objective no problem but when you get insulted
, threatened with crap and more then
you need to say things as they are, I just wanted to correct the course
like the post before me whom I dealt with. There are ways to say things, when a person
tells you that your site is crap and that it's not credible I don't call that
constructive criticism but rather a way to create trouble.

Hello,
I have a solution for you: WWW.MONTREALAMATEUR.COM is the site that montrealwebcam copied. It's much better made, 99.9% free, and requires no downloads to watch the webcams!
Try this :) montrealamateur.com or mtlam.com (same thing)
Thank you

lol fleurdelyss, your comment made me laugh. I've been on mtlweb for 4-5 years, so we should know each other. However, I've been to several parties from the site, and you give a very funny description of them. If it were so degrading, I don't see why there would still be so many people attending. Plus, I've met the owner of the site quite often at the site parties or at other events organized by members, and NEVER, but NEVER have I seen this man look dirty with greasy hair, etc. He looks very well put together and is always well-dressed, even though he's not my type. He still looks like a nice man.
As for your telephone number story, I think you may have given it to the wrong person...or simply your MSN. Did you know that by giving your MSN to anyone, those people can easily trace your IP address and all your personal information? I don’t believe a man running a successful business would risk losing everything by sharing your number with men. I've often given my phone number or address to friends on this site, and they’ve never had any problems. I never give my MSN to just anyone. Furthermore, the site owner is against all harassment, so if you had brought your issue to him, I'm sure he could have helped you because I know in the past some women have had problems with men they chose to meet, and the owner helped them get rid of them.
So, since you're making assertions, it would be good to give us your nick; it might help others avoid experiencing the same situation as you if the owner can see how your situation happened. All of this looks like a smear campaign against montrealwebcam.com. Since the owner bans people who cause trouble, I think many come here to vent their frustrations.
As for your telephone number story, I think you may have given it to the wrong person...or simply your MSN. For 4-5 years? You must be one of the stubborn ones who have really embraced the overall image of the site, which features little unattractive women with yellow teeth, hairstyles from the 80s, Walmart bras, doing cam shows while smoking their Indian cigarettes with a pile of dirty laundry stacked behind them, and a shady-looking husband who spends his days masturbating next to them while looking at girls like me, because they don't see them often on this site.
You've still been here for 2 years... lol I'm going to stop here... I understand why you got banned, even if it's a porn site, people shouldn't think with their... instead of their heads, I think... lol
You were still there for 2 years... lol I'm going to stop this...
I’m starting to believe you don’t read any messages before replying. You should have read the previous comments instead of acting like a crazy person defending your crappy site here. :)
The site was new at first and I went there maybe once a month to chat with friends, and it amused me to make the old dirty-t-shirt guys drool with excitement (oh yes, we had a lot of fun, hihihi).
But having a guy hanging around in front of your door, I think it’s not even worth the hassle of staying on a site like that when there are thousands out there. When you think your information is kept secure and the admins do whatever they want with it, that’s an excellent reason to leave. And reading the majority of messages in this forum and in other forums I visited, I’m really glad I didn’t get stolen or anything. Feel free to think what you want, I couldn't care less. You are still on this site and I'm not :). And as for the banning, I’d be very surprised if they banned people who have a bit of class because there aren’t that many already ;)
So my dear, just the fact that you’re still on this site despite it being pointed out time and time again as not at all recommendable and that it gathers, I believe, all the rejects who have no chance of being liked on any other site... well, just the courage you have to shout your love and belonging to that site takes away our need to add anything... we really want to shout a big bravo to you :D
You can keep telling us about your site if you want, I really like the credibility you demonstrate in your messages. I've seen all kinds of specimens on this site but finding one who expresses themselves without shame outside of their usual paths, I believe that doesn't happen very often. Entertain us as you’re used to doing on this site ;)
