Hello to the entire "Comment ça marche" community.
I would like to practice photography beyond just keeping memories, and I am a novice with somewhat advanced equipment!
I currently own an EOS 1000D camera that accepts EF and EF S mount lenses. I was just given a Tamron lens, AF 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 XR DI II Aspherical Macro; which does not work with the autofocus of the camera.
Could you let me know if there is a way to adapt it without losing that function?
Thank you in advance for your responses.

Hello
"Tamron, AF 18-200mm is not working with the camera's autofocus".
1/ I don’t have this lens but
2/ normally the autofocus should work.
Is it possible that it's in manual mode by chance?
Kind regards -
Good evening Durock,
I make sure that the autofocus is set to AF. It works perfectly at 18 mm, but as soon as it goes beyond 50mm (towards 200mm) it is no longer automatic and I have to set it to manual (M), and turn the ring to focus; which I am unable to do because I have a vision problem (the photos are blurry!).
In any case, whether you have the solution or not, I thank you for your response.

Okay, I understand better.
In my opinion, your zoom has a problem and if it is new, for me, it's a return for warranty service.
If it's no longer under warranty, I don't see what can be done. -
A big thank you durock, I will follow your advice as the objective is under guarantee.
