Hello,
Let me explain, I had a single 1TB partition where Win7 was installed. (partition C:)
- I bought a new 2TB HDD, where I installed Win7. (partition G:)
- What I would like is to make C: non-bootable.
- And that it boots automatically on G:
I have a lot of files to transfer from C: to G: after which I will format C:
- For now, in Disk Management, I right-clicked on G: "Mark Partition as Active", but it doesn't work, the system boots from C: without asking me.
- I also set the BIOS to boot directly from my new disk, but no success either.
There you go, I'm a bit lost, it’s been a while since I did this kind of install.
Thanks in advance.

hey Dewey!
you should put the new hard drive first
install Windows
without having your old drive plugged in
then connect your old drive after the new one and the DVD drive
because currently you have the BOOT files on "C:\"
but Windows boots from "G:\"
reinstall
see you

Hi old bedbug,
Thank you for your reply, but I’ve found the solution.
It’s simply about downloading EasyBCD.
Here it is: https://neosmart.net/EasyBCD/#comparison take the "Free" version and you choose on which partition to boot (it seems to be a very popular program since there isn’t a boot.ini on Windows 7).
