The subject is dated, but the software still exists and I just encountered the lost password issue.
The solution is "simple": you need to boot from a live CD (such as Parted Magic) and delete the diskpt0.sys file in the root directory (c:\), then go to the "programs" directory and rename the shadow defender directory.
Restart the computer.
Rename the shadow defender directory back to its original name and uninstall it from the control panel.
Here is a clean uninstallation.
