Hello,

I just got a PlayStation 3 today (it's brand new) and I'm connecting via Wi-Fi. I live in a hotel, which is important to mention. I can connect and browse the internet (Google, etc.), and I can access the store, but I get this error code (80710736) when I try to add a friend or change my avatar, for example. Hello, I just had the same issue but you need to go to network settings, media server, disable it, there you go.

Hi,  have you by any chance activated the media server feature on your PS3? If so, disable it.

The problem is that your PS3 goes through a router that filters connections (firewall), which must be the hotel's one. In fact, the principle is to allow incoming connections from the internet to your PS3.
