Sorry for my bluntness, but ... in my humble opinion, your pain would rather honestly be a blessing in disguise (or: a fart instead of a vomit ... ah, the poet's corner ...) that you got banned right away ... At least, there’s a chance that there aren’t (too) many traces of your personal information ...
Indeed, since roughly the end of June 2011, it seems that a new system of registration validation rules has been established, with mind-blowing effects and rather staggering consequences ...
First, you sign up as usual, OK no problem, with or without a photo pending approval ... No issues, just standard ...
Second, you receive a severely obnoxious smash-back from the Inter-Chat Site, namely a message stating that you MUST resend a photo as follows - hold on tight, "GESTAPO is back":
=> a clear photo of your face, roughly from the front, roughly an ID photo (yes, yes!... but wait till you read on!),
=> WITH, MANDATORILY, the candidate holding a SIGN in the photo, on which their ID is written in LARGE letters ... Yes, I have captured ALL the web pages on this subject ...
=> additionally, on the Site, AS LONG as the candidate hasn’t fully complied with this “gestapo” obligation, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to access any personal data page whatsoever, even to modify OR, rather, to quickly delete their Account and get the hell out of this site that now seems to be managed by “finished little Nazi lunatics” ...
=> And, nearly every day, a reminder/email comes in ...
IN SHORT ... Clearly, the "INTER-CHAT" Site is now blatantly ILLEGAL, in the sense that it openly VIOLATES the "Informatics & Freedoms" Law, particularly regarding the Right to rectify personal data, which is the very basis of the field ... Therefore, for THE REST, we are now entitled to fear the worst ...
The CNIL does not want to hear about it for now, on the grounds that the sacred 2-month deadline from the first "letter" (from me to "I-C") has not yet expired.
HOWEVER, faced with an Organization that never acknowledges receipt of anything, WHAT DATE should be taken as the "Starting Point" of this deadline? ... As you can see, all of this has been so well premeditated and tied up that, once again, one can doubt the ability of the CNIL to sanction "Inter-Chat", despite the obviousness of the offense. However, "at the end of the deadline" in my opinion, and in the absence of change from I-C, I will report everything to the CNIL. Not for myself (meh!!!... nothing to...!), but rather for all the other people caught in the same way, and, ABOVE ALL, for the PRINCIPLE = the respect of OUR fundamental Rights.
