Slow Processing (Processor) Solved

Question

Hello,

I am reaching out to you with great pleasure while expressing my gratitude to the members of the forum.
I have created an Excel file for calculating depreciation.
My problem is that I don’t know what has happened, but when I modify an element, it takes time to process. At the bottom of my file, I see it says = calculating (4 processor(s)) and it starts counting in percentage. I don’t know how to resolve this. I am counting on you to help me out. Especially you, Le Pingou, if you receive this, I want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you for your support regarding the amortization table you helped me create.

Hello,
Due to the cascade links from February to December, each new entry updates the sheets. At my place, it takes a maximum of 1/2 second.
It depends on the specifications of your PC…!

PC specifications: Intel[R] Core[TM] 2 Quad CPU
Q8200 @2.33GHz
2.33 GHz, 3.46 GB of RAM

The time it takes before taking = on average 5.5 seconds
It is indeed the file I made available that is causing the issue.

I received the file. I tried it, but I'm still having the same problem. So I think it might be my PC that's the issue.
The Note, 'See the Tax-Authorized Usage Durations' has been modified.: that's not a problem, in fact it's better because it allows having that in a single cell. I notice that the lines are limited to 40 with a frozen header, that's great and I would like to ask how to do that. But can we add extra lines without any issue?

As I mentioned before, due to the cascading links from February to December, each new entry updates the sheets, which takes a bit of time, and clearly your machine is a bit slower than mine (it's not a problem).
You could work only with the current month's sheet and activate the following month as we get there (which would avoid the updates for the upcoming months...).
Another possibility is to disable the automatic calculation mode of the workbook and let it recalculate before saving or trigger it manually.

Regarding: the lines are limited to 40 no problem, you just need to select line 40 and drag it (copy/paste) down according to your wishes (the formulas will follow)

Regarding: with a frozen header you just need to use the panes, check the help under [freeze panes] you have all the details.

Hello,
If you need all the months of a year to be present, you use this solution:
Disable the workbook's automatic calculation mode and let it recalculate before saving or trigger it manually.

Otherwise, you create the new month's sheet on the last day of the current month.
