Hello,    Configuration: Windows Vista / Internet Explorer 8.0 Hello, I would like to format my HP computer, but when I go to HP (C:) and right-click to format, I get the following message: "You cannot format this volume." What should I do? I am lost. Thank you for your help.

you cannot format your system partition if you are on your system
if you want to reinstall your PC, use the HP recovery CD

be sure to back up your data (documents, images, music, videos, everything that cannot be recovered) before formatting!
