Hello,
I have a slideshow of nearly 500 photos that I want to transfer to a USB stick to connect it to a TV. A simple copy produces a slideshow with intervals of about 15 seconds, which makes it unusable.
I had burned a DVD with Magix and Photo DVD Maker; there were no problems from the DVD, but nothing after transferring to the USB stick.
Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Best regards,
Petrus
Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 3.6.13

Hello,
The durations of the slideshow may need to be reviewed, with a maximum photo exposure time of 5 seconds (less if the slideshow is long to avoid being too boring), and for transitions/effects, 1 to 2 seconds are sufficient, no more. Indeed, 15 seconds seems long to me, especially for a slideshow of 500 photos that should last about an hour or so in my opinion.
Regarding the viewing of the photo slideshow without transformation on the television, the durations must be adjustable. Check your device's manual to see how to do this. On my DVD player, for example (I only have a classic television that does not read USB drives), there are three speeds: normal, slow, and fast.
Otherwise, maybe by converting your DVD slideshow into an AVI file (DivX or XviD depending on what your television can read, but be careful, the USB port may also not read video files), it could work; I’m not sure.
If you made a DVD-Video slideshow, you need to either use software capable of converting DVD-Video ->, or go into the DVD and convert the VOB files.
Try using the software Format Factory for example, which is capable of doing both.
For DVD-Video to AVI: ROM Peripheral\DVD\CD\ISO --> DVD to video file --> set to AVI and configure DivX and others in Destination Settings.
For VOB files --> AVI: Videos --> Any type to AVI then configure in Destination Settings.
If you have several VOB files, either go through DVD-Video to AVI, or through Advanced --> Video joiners to merge the files.
Other software can also be used such as Avidemux, HandBrake version 0.9.3, Prism, etc.
Best regards
