Hello,
I am explaining my problem, I have a Lexmark e460dn printer, when I add paper to the manual tray, it does not detect it automatically. I have to select it in the printer options. How can I get it to detect automatically like on HP printers???
Thank you in advance
Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.6.13

Hi, I have the same problem as you; it's because the Lexmark e460dn does not have a detector for the manual tray.
I have a solution, but it doesn’t work all the time.
--------------------------from the user guide-------------------------------------------
* In the Paper menu, Configure MF must be set to Tray for the
MF feeder to appear as a menu option.
* Tray 1 corresponds to the factory setting.
* Only paper source feed options are displayed as menu
parameters.
* A paper source selected by a print job has priority over the default parameter regarding the duration of the print job.
* If you have loaded the same sizes and types of paper in two trays and
if the Paper Size and Paper Type settings match, the trays
are automatically linked. When one tray is empty, paper from the other linked tray is used for printing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, a summary of the printer guide excerpt
1- You need to configure the types and sizes of paper identically for the MF feeder and tray 1.
2- You need to configure on the PC in the paper/paper feed menu: MF feeder.
There is a second solution, but it’s not practical.
On the PC paper feed: manual paper.
The problem is that you have to specify which tray for each print job.
Let me know if you find another solution at asouayed@steg.com.tn.
