Overclocker Intel Pentium E2180@2.00GHz

Hello,

Configuration: Windows Vista / Internet Explorer 7.0

I have a computer purchased in a store about 2 years ago with Vista 64 and an Intel Pentium E2180@2.00GHz processor, a GeForce 9500GT graphics card, and 4.00GB of RAM. Basically, I manage to play Battlefield Company 2 online, but it's very tight.
I managed to overclock the graphics card, which makes the game almost acceptable, but it's very limited. Now, I would like to overclock the CPU, but when accessing the BIOS (F11), the settings regarding the CPU are grayed out, probably due to factory settings, I imagine. I don't have the budget to invest in new hardware at the moment.
I also tried using ClockGen software under Windows, but I can't find my processor... So my question is the following: Is there a method to unlock these factory parameters? It would be great! Thank you in advance.

You will need to buy a motherboard...
Otherwise, you can’t overclock. I recommend a Gigabyte for €40, your Pentium has good o/c potential.

Yes, but the memory issue arises (just me, I have a margin on that and I can’t do anything about it :( )
You really need a decent motherboard...
There are good ones for €50.
Someone from the forum who wanted to overclock his E2200 had a branded PC, bought a Gigabyte for €47, and he managed to reach 3 GHz! :)

Hi Franck, sorry for the delay in responding. So, if I buy a motherboard, will access to the BIOS regarding the CPU frequencies be possible?
A simple update of my BIOS wouldn't change anything about the problem?
Could you provide a complete reference or a link for a Gigabyte motherboard since there are quite a few types? Thanks.

Yes, it's not bad for the price ^^. A guy who had almost that one overclocked it quite well.

    Hello.

And while looking on the HP site with your PC's reference, is there no way to find a new BIOS? I know that on some I had done it, MSI motherboards too, and the overclocking options were unlocked... Maybe a good lead to follow.

The Force is like computers, its actions are unexpected.

It's true. They're called modded BIOS. But they're often unstable and can crash. It's something to do if you can buy another motherboard. Regardless, the overclocking capabilities won't be exceptional.

Hi, indeed it's the first thing I wanted to do and I only found one update. For your information, it's an MSI motherboard (ms7525) via the HP site. I now have BIOS version 5.22, but there is no difference in the BIOS menu!

No, with the HP site you won't have any differences; modded BIOS is another thing.

Hello, I was planning to order my new motherboard today with its cooler, but this morning I looked again at the specifications of my motherboard and apparently, the motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:
      *Core 2 Duo E7xxx (Wolfdale-M)
      *Core 2 Duo E4x00 (Conroe)
      *Pentium series E2xxx (Conroe)
*Celeron Dual Core series E1xx0 (Conroe)
      *Celeron series 4xx (Conroe)

So I did some searching and found quite a few Core 2 Duo E7600 Wolfdale processors on the second-hand market (sometimes almost new) with their cooler at an average price of around 70 euros... we're therefore close to the same budget, but in terms of performance, how does it compare to my E2180 overclocked? Its technical specifications also look pretty good...
