Hello,
Recently, my partner discovered through my spam in my hotmail account that I was signed up on a dating site (adult friend finder to name it) to meet for sexual encounters. On this site, there is a profile with my commonly used username, my date of birth, and certain personal characteristics that are specific to me. The only problem is that I have never been on this site and I have never signed up for this site. In fact, I have never in my life signed up for a dating site.
I managed to close this account. But my partner is asking me a lot of questions, and no matter how much I tell her that I don't know this site and that I never signed up, she doesn't believe me at all.
I read online that this site has already used spyware to collect personal information from people who have never even visited this site. Can this practice even lead to the creation of a personal account without my knowledge?
Thank you for helping me solve this mystery!

If there was no photo, it could be anyone.

It uses the spam system. It retrieves your email address from a list and adds news against your will.
Otherwise, it could be one of your friends who had fun with your email account, but in that case, you would have received a confirmation email for the subscription... -
