If you're interested, uninstall your current one and install Antivir.

The most telling are links 3 and 4: Norton is updated much later after the new infection is detected! The responsiveness is low and the detection rate is average.

Disable and re-enable your system restore to purge it.
Start > right-click on My Computer, Properties, System Restore tab > Disable System Restore, then Apply and ok, ok.
(Don't forget to reverse the procedure to immediately re-enable it).
