Hello,
No, I haven't installed any pack.
I found where to delete them, namely in the device manager, audio and video controller, then in the properties of the CODECs.
Can we delete everything in the audio and video codecs?
Thank you for your reply

Hello,
It would also help me if someone knew.
Can we delete all the codecs on the computer? Because I still have quite a few when I check with Gspot. Are they only audio and video codecs? Or are there other types of codecs?
Maybe there's a website that could explain all this to me, but I've been searching on Google and haven't found anything satisfactory.
I have uninstalled everything that could be uninstalled using add/remove programs in Windows Explorer and I would like to know if there's any risk if I delete all the codecs found by the codec sniper software one by one.
Thank you.

It depends if you have installed a codec pack..
if that's the case, go to control panel/add remove programs and simply remove the codec pack.

Hello Toms56,
your patience is admirable!
Hi to everyone else as well, of course!
Here are two pages that will tell you and show you what you need to know better than I could in a post:
http://yalbert.free.fr/video/codec/desinstallation.htm
http://yalbert.free.fr/video/codec/detection.htm#codecs_installes
However, as these two pages tell you, be very careful,
1) to uninstall the packs or players first if the codec comes from them
2) not to uninstall a codec without knowing what it corresponds to, especially if it's one from Windows...
There you go!
:-)

Hi everyone,

I just installed SP3 for XP Pro and I updated the Bricodock Vista Inspiration that was not working under SP3.

Vista Inspiration is asking me to disable certain codecs, I comply, and now I can't play any movies, just a white screen or strange green colors on all players.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled K-Lite Codecs Pack, but it's stuck.

Does anyone know how we can reactivate an already installed codec, please?
