Hello,
I just subscribed to Orange: internet + TV + Phone.
I don’t have Wi-Fi on my computer, so I connected the Livebox to my computer and I wanted to install Liveplugs to connect my TV, which is not in the same room as the computer.
However, I’ve heard that Liveplugs work better when you connect the Livebox to the TV decoder and the Liveplug to the computer. Is that true? And can I connect the Liveplugs to the computer (because I thought the Liveplug connection was reserved for the TV connection and not for the computer)?
I don’t have HD TV, but a friend is giving me his HD Liveplugs; can I use them instead of the regular Liveplugs?
Please help me... Thank you.

Liveplugs allow you to connect the Livebox or the Modem to the TV Decoder without using a cable to directly link the two devices.
The Livebox or Modem and the decoder can thus be far apart or even installed in two different rooms.
Liveplugs use powerline communication to transmit the video stream over the electrical wiring of the home.
The customer can therefore retrieve the video stream (for TV only) from any socket in the electrical system.
There are two types of Liveplugs:
Liveplug (classic): operating at a speed of 85 Mbits/s.
High Definition Liveplug: High Definition compatible, also advised for challenging electrical installations: operating at a speed reaching 200 Mbits/s.
High Definition Liveplug +: High Definition compatible, also advised for challenging electrical installations: operating at a speed reaching 200 Mbits/s. This one does not block the wall socket it is plugged into.
Plug and Play
New services on the Internet such as the "Triple Play" offer with Internet television, video on demand (VOD), telephony (voice over IP), as well as broadband and the increase in data volume demand a very high bandwidth. The new devolo dLAN 200 AV adapter offers the best performance while providing a very simple networking solution thanks to Plug-and-Play: plug the adapter into a wall socket and the electrical installation is transformed into a computer network via powerline communication (PLC). A range of 200 meters allows for network topology according to your wishes, whether you are at home or at work.
Quality of Service
HD video streaming or voice over IP telephony requires impeccable data transfer – without cumbersome delays. In case of critical traffic on the network, the "Quality of Service" (QoS) function automatically prioritizes voice or video data over other applications. Real-time application data is transmitted better, even when multiple devices are used on the network simultaneously and are running different applications.

So this means that I can plug the TV into the Livebox and my computer into the Liveplug?
And that I can use the HD Liveplugs I have, no need to buy the 85 Liveplugs.

Yes, but when you don’t know anything, all these documents are just gibberish...
Sorry for Jk 76, but I'm afraid to call Orange and get advice that won't suit me and that it will cost me yet another purchase...
Because from everything I've read, sometimes the technicians don't give you the option that would suit you best...
I want to avoid spending too much; the installation and the plan at €40 per month is already quite a lot...
