Emulate Linux on Windows Solved

Question

Hello,is it possible to use a Linux environment on Windows?Because I would like to work on Linux without having to mess with my little hard drive.There are bootable CDs, but you still need to format part of the HDD to be able to save files.Does anyone have an idea?

I don't know if with Cygwin we can also emulate windows, but I'll try.

Meanwhile, I found Colinux which apparently allows it, with a graphical interface and everything you need it seems ;-)

Hi, you can even emulate KDE with Cygwin, but with my small setup, it lags a lot with 256MB of RAM and 1.2GHz, it's a shame :') The link: http://kde-cygwin.sourceforge.net/

There are also PC emulators like Qemu (http://www.infos-du-net.com/forum/133721-7-tutoriel-tester-sous-windows-qemu), VmWare, or VirtualPc
And then there is Topologilinux which installs directly on Windows, so no dual boot, it's a bit like a software you install on Windows except that here it's an OS:

It's crazy!
What's the point of running a Linux emulation on Windows? You must want to give yourself a headache and be scared of viruses.
Buy a second disk and install Linux on it; it's much more effective!!!

Bootable CD + USB key to keep the data and that's it.  Otherwise, there’s something better: permanently switching to Linux, Ubuntu for example, to start with, it's not bad.
