Hello,

I would like to calculate an average, but I can't find the formula. I had 2 exams for which the teachers calculated an average. However, they didn't have the same weight for this average. Exam A had a weight of 70% and Exam B a weight of 30%. I only know the score for Exam A, which is 5/20, and I would like to know the value of the second one. Since their weights are not the same, I don't understand how to calculate this. Could you please explain it to me?

It's much clearer. If B is the grade of your second exam, we have: 0.3*B+0.7*5=9 B=18.33

Seriously, it's impossible to calculate, we are missing a piece of information, either your average or your second grade.

Hello,  your first grade of 5/20 has a weight of 70%. So you do (70*5 + 30*(the grade of the second exam)) / 100 -- we never stop learning.

If you're looking for the value of the second grade, and you have the average, you do a rule of three...

a + b = c so b = c - a...

If the two events are linked, the average and your grade, if 5/20 represents 70%, then 30% represents about 2.14/20.
It's the word average that is getting to me here, which is represented as a percentage, explain yourself better.

I will explain again. I had an average of 2 exams. But these two exams do not have the same value. The first one is worth 70% (it is therefore much more important than the other) in the average and I got 5/20. The second one, whose value I do not know, is worth 30% in this average. My average of the two exams is 9/20. I would like to know what I got on the second exam.
